Great video, very helpful! I was doing this and found a slight shortcut: for the two brackets that hold the bulb in place, you only have to completely remove one. With the easier-to-remove bracket all the way off, you can loosen the screws on the other bracket, and the bulb wiggles free pretty easily. It's still possible to install the new bulb, making sure to line up that notch that the video points out.
THIS was the video I needed! I've replaced bulbs on other projectors but this one was a bit more difficult as I didn't get the entire enclosure; I just got the bulb. Thanks!
This video completely walked me through replacing the bulb. Thank you so much. It went really well and i feel so great i did it myself (with your video!). Thanks guys :)
Hello mate! Any drawbacks in projection after replacing the bulb? I mean like more brightness on one side than the other, or more brightness in the center than in the corners compared to the original?

Any idea what to do if the bracket screws are firmly stuck? (Looks like mine are even smaller than yours, difficult to find a screwdriver that doesn't slip out)
Great video! I'm thinking about purchase a second hand one (same model). He sells it with an extra lamp (bare bulb) but i'm not sure if that bulb is original or not. Could you tell me the serial number and/or brand of the lamp or other information about it so i can confirm the authenticity of the lamp. Thank you very much!
Good morning, I state that I can not hear the audio of your video. In another user's video I saw that between the lamp and the external plastic door there is a sheet of transparent plastic adhesive to seal the lamp from dust. The person who made the video, removed the transparent sticker before removing the lamp and then, after inserting a new lamp, put a new sheet of transparent plastic adhesive to seal the lamp from the dust and then inserted the plastic outer door to close the projector. In the opening video, there is no clear plastic sheet to seal the lamp from dust. Neither before nor after ... Because? thank you
Do not.. I mean DO NOT change bulb without cotton gloves. If you get oil on the outside of the bulb you shorten the bulb life length by half. I mean it seriously don't do it like this dude. Everything else is good only thing are the gloves he don't use.
I'm from India and when I called up Benq repair center they told me cost of a replacement bulb would be around 200 USD. But I can see bulbs of my Benq model w1050 on eBay for $80. If I were to keep using my projector, do you think the bulbs will still be available in 4 or 5 years or so? I really don't want my projector to go to waste. And also do you think it's good to buy from eBay?
Does anyone know what the 2 cables that connect to the bulb are called? And the little plastic square connector they connect to? One of these cables shorted on my W1070 and I'm trying to find the part online but can't find it anywhere. No clue what it's called... does anyone know?
I opened my projector lamp case to find the whole lamp had exploded. Glass is everywhere inside. What should i do When the lamp went bang it sounded like a flashbang grenade
