My mate had an ancient old Specialized Pitch which badly needed overhauling after spending many years in the shed. It had those back to back bearings in the rear with the separating lip in between them. I used the blind bearing puller, but they were so tight it simply ripped out the centre of the bearing leaving the outer race seized in the frame. I had a nightmare getting those out let me tell you. It turned into one of those jobs you wish you'd never started.
Enjoy your vids, particularly the e bike ones as we recently bought two. Thanks for your Christmas wishes. Best Christmas wishes to you and a happy and healthy 2024.🇦🇺
Fantastic, detailed video. I did this myself last week on my bike. On my canyon spectral the back to backs had a very slight lip between so I had to pull one out, I could then push the other. I bought an extraction and insertion tool from RRP because kinetic didn't have one in the right size.
Nice to have all of those tools 😉 Great tutorial once again 👍 I can do my whole Trek with some ready rod + nuts, washers, a pipe nipple and some sockets Ironically, I do own a blind bearing puller... 🤦♀
Can you link all tools taht are needed and also the correct bearing set for this bike model? great helpful video at all. bearings seem to be out of stock in the most shops. greetings from Germany ✌️
Hi. Really helpful and informative video. Just wondering what's the name of the tool used at 24mins to remove and install the swing link bearings? and any suggestions where best to buy? Cheers
Great video! Can you recommend any good stores in the UK that sell these tools? Any names/models/part nos for the tools themselves? Oh, also - any decent bearing suppliers? Having difficulty getting spares from CRC/Nukeproof atm.
I need to do this to my reactor 2022. where do I find this drift tool you use at 15mins to hammer that one out? All new to me and slightly confused to what tools I need. Found a press kit for the 3 type of bearings I need on this bike to reinstall them so that should be fine, Seen a bearing puller for sale but no mention to use it with this slide hammer. Couldnt link the site where I can purchase this puller from could you? Thanks for great video
@@TheYorkshireBikeMechanic 6 months that’s ridiculous on such an expensive bike , i have an Orange Patriot that I have only had to change the swinging arm bearings once in 18 years , should have bought another Orange 😎
Bad quality bearings or wrong grade is common . I am very picky about bearing suppliers . A let down for Nukeproof and Canyon , sadly . Canyon's reputation is below that of Giant , in my opinion .
