Close up of the door catch would be helpful but after i saw which way the catch went took me abut 2 mins, just showed i needed to give it a little bit more pressure to put the pin back in. Thanks for posting
For the door mechanism, the hook goes inside the washing machine facing left. The spring goes to the right of the hook with the flat part of the spring touching the backside of the hook. The pin needs some pressure to get inside all the holes. Best way i can describe it....

i was able to take my door apart without removing the full door, i just un screwed the door apart, being careful to have a blanket and cushion below and holding onto the glass and removing it carefully. The rest did not go according to plan. I thought i'd fixed the handle so i closed the door and now it's stuck..doh!! guess i need to take the lid off now.
