Come on that lower alternator bolt is almost impossible to reach and you just gloss over it and fake that part of the procedure?

This car has no belt tensioner

It has a tensioner it’s just not an auto tensioner. Tension is adjusted with the alternator positioning bolt

I just did this on a 2011. It’s totally different. Find another video. Seriously.

Just like the paper Haynes manuals-- 10 minutes explaining how to open your hood then glossing over the toughest parts. And then treating a wide range of models the same. Here's a hint, fellas: the 2007 Fit's lower alternator bolt is not accessible in the way shown here and, in fact, is about a million times more difficult to access. But, yeah, thanks for this guide.

Exactly! This job would be a piece of cake if it wasn’t for that stupid bolt and they faked it in the video!

not true you can access the bolt just need the right extensions and a long flexhead wrench def helps.

@@michaelmiranda6297 Not on my car. The bolt seized up and there was no access for adequate torque.

you can also just use to the tensioner to loosen the belt... you dont have to touch the alternator.

Dont forget to disconnect the abs module connector for more room. To do so lift up on the orange lock tab. It can be snug so you may have to wiggle it a bit before it pulls up.

I think because that was the Honda Fit that they produced in Tijuana .

What is the correct size of belt?
@paulh6591

For my two '10 Fits (original belts, have 180K and 200K miles on them respectively) I got a *Continental 5K1135* ($9.50) and for the nicer Fit a *Gates K050448* ($17.50). One is listed as being 1.135 meters (44.69 inches) inside circumference, the other 1.153 meters (45 and 3/8") outer circumference. No matter; both are indicated to be correct for the vehicle, and there are others, from other manufacturers. I'll guess the "K" in "K050448" is the designation for micro-V belt, "050" is probably the diameter in hundredths of an inch, and "448" the inner circumference, in tenths of an inch.

@@paulh6591 i bought bando belt 5pk1140 which barely fit the FIT. But i managed. I guess the perfect fit would have been 1145 or 1150.

I just inspect mine. If it's old and showing any sign of cracking, change it. Mine's the original (17 yrs), but only 40k kms (24k miles) and still looks fine. I don't drive the car much and it's always garaged.
