Dear viewer,
In this video I am showing you how to remove and replace the front side indicators located on top of the fenders. On the G-Wagon this process is quite involved and also requires either the removal of the headlights or of the wheel-well liners. Since I needed to align my headlights and wanted to see how everything was connected behind them, I elected to go with the first option.
In addition to this, I also tackle a missing diffuser for the little puddle light located in the side mirror. It is mindboggling how this relatively big piece can go missing, unless someone purposefully removed it or stole it from the vehicle at some point.
If you liked the video, please consider giving it a thumbs up and subscribe to the channel for more content like this! As always if you have any questions, feel free to post them in the comment section below. I do my best to answer to all comments.

Great informative video! Do you have code for begel side lights?

Great video, thank you!! What are your thoughts on either replacing the indecent bulb with an LED bulb, or replacing the entire assembly with an aftermarket LED turn signal?

It is completely up to you. At one point I did look into getting LED turn signal indicators, but then I saw it on another G wagon and decided I would prefer to keep the original look.

@@EndlessMotorWorks thank you! I’m torn between the original and LED look as well. Is there any downside/must be aware of in converting from the original bulb to LEDs? Do you always need to add a resister and allow for heat absorption or can you just exchange the original bulb to the matching LED bulb in the same socket and housing?

@@klaus3350 The resister is necessary to avoid errors associated with the headlights to appear on the dash. Regarding the heat dissipation, with LEDs this is a must. LEDs shine brighter when cooler. If they get hot, the light output diminishes. This is why most LEDs have fans and heatsinks. My main issue with LEDs and why didn't go with them as primary beams was that in order for the heat to be dissipated properly there would need to be an opening somewhere in the headlight so that the fan can breath and get fresh air. However, if there are openings in the headlights, this would cause moisture and dust accumulate in them.

Thanks for the detail video. I didn’t know my headlights are missing those round rubber gasket until now. Do you happen to know how to replace or disable the tiny driving light bulb right under the headlight, mine is shining old yellowish color while the headlight is white which is really ugly? So i wanna either change it or turn it off. Thx again

These gaskets are always missing. Don't know why exactly. I guess people forget to put them on after messing with the headlight or are in such a bad condition that need replacing but no one wants to spend the money on a new pair. I don't know how to disable them exactly, my best guess would be with DAS Xentry. You can also replace them. On mine, the previous owner has put in a pair of Osram W5W bulbs from the Cool Blue Boost lineup. While not shining exactly white, they are significantly whiter than a normal yellow halogen bulb.

@@EndlessMotorWorks Thabks for the reply. If yours is made in Taiwan too so i guess we have the same Depo light. Just dont know how to get that W5W light out, i just unplug it but always show the malfunction warning every time i start the car. Probably have to spend more time to mess with it again. Thanks again man

@@kenjizone If you unplug it you will get a warning on the dash, because it is connected to the CAN-BUS system. This is why it either needs to be coded with Xentry DAS (not sure if this is possible) or simply replacing it.
