How To: Replace the O-Ring on a Pool Sand Filter 

It looks like the voice is coming from inside the pipe! That’s give more personality to the instructions. (Like, who knows better than your pool filter pipes) I love it 😃👍

This was close enough to my extremepower filter to help me out on placement of the o-ring. The extremepower was very inexpensive but it did not come with any detailed instructions. Thank goodness for youtube and thanks inyo pools for posting this video!

How do you know that the clamp are enough tightened? I see that you are leaving a gap between the two. They dont join together. What gap should i leave. One inch?

A lot of sand filters have the multi port valve separately from the filter.

Do you have to remove pipping? Can you do it without cutting? I don’t have connections and just pipping and hoping I can change the ring without cutting. I have to change my o-ring and it seems like a big job to cut the pipping.

Greetings..my sand filter keep leaking some small amount of water even when the machine off and the port valve is in the closed mode..the water came out from the in line pipe from the pump to sand filter(its happened when i want to change the pipe line)..do you had any idea what happened with my sand filter..tx in adv..greetings..god bless

If the o ring is bad would it be letting sand into the pool?

I just changed out the sand in my filter. Everything went smoothly until it was time to put the metal collar clamp back on. It's like the multiport valve was sitting too high when I placed it back onto the sand container. I had to get my brother to help push the top section down as I barely got the clamp to secure. Then, of course, I went to backwash after seemingly everything was finished to find water leaking from the collar area. O-ring was on the multiport valve, but was not inspected. What could be the issue? Is it normal when replacing the multiport back onto the sand container that it can sit kinda high, like it's not seated completely?

This is the same as mine can you tell me the size of the o ring so i can bye one bought to all ready but they are to small

Ours will not quit leaking and its brand new... HELP!!!

If my Flange Clamp is leaking and I want to check if the o-ring is damaged, is there a risk that once I unscrew the flange clamp, the water will start coming out?

Seeing where it sat and gapping before collar went on would be handy.

I just bought a house with one of these cheap filters. Same leak, same place. I slowed it down with flex seal. I am gonna replace it with a real filter. Obviously a manufacturing deffect.

If you open the drain valve wont the sand come out of the filter and get on the threads of the drain valve.
