Thank you so much. I did it. You need to get the glue strip fairly warm. I was afraid to overheat it but then it finally let go and it was not really difficult after. Your instructions made all the difference. I have it all back together and now it's charging. We'll see if it fixes the problem of the phone shutting off randomly and often.

Thanks for the video. Thanks to this guide, once I got the back off, everything was simple. Getting the back off without breaking it is difficult, but I managed to do it in about a half hour. I used a heat gun, guitar picks, and a puller.

Instead of guitar pics (which I did not have), I used a scalpel blade ( A blade from utility knifes will probably work also ) for the initial prying. Once you start prying the cover up, you can use PLASTIC KNIVES for support purposes. It did the job. Thanx for the video.

I would not use metal on any part of the phone. You can scratch, break and even short out parts that can cause a fire. Stick with plastic when prying things.

managed to do this with a normal hair dryer and toothpicks and small screwdriver. not as hard as I thought it would be.

Glue?! You don't need no stinkin' glue! Great video- I did it in about 30 minutes... most of which was getting the ball* to heat it up enough. I used the bigger suction cup from my car's cell phone holder bracket.

Damn, I was doing great with this until I got 12 screws out easily and came down to #13 and it will. not. budge. My dad and I both tried many times.

Mia Kate put a rubber band on it and then unscrew through the rubber band. It creates friction

You follow the steps in reverse to assemble it? Like.. the adhesive.. you scrape off the guitar pick and put back on the phone...? Mine won't sit back together afterwards...

You can remove the adhesive using alcohol based solvent and then after it dries use double sided tape in its place

Not directly to consumers since they dont like us replacing ourselves, you can go to the samsung store but they will want to do the job themselves. You can buy from online or privately owned phone shops because they do provide trade people with parts
