The original resolution seems to be a factor as well as the complexity of the colours to be selected... works but in limited situations. Interesting nevertheless. thank you

A super precise selection would not be possible, or worth the effort , with a low resolution image. This approach is something to be tried when other (easier) methods fail. Thank you!
