#DIY #ValveCoverGasket #OilLeak #Howto How to replace the valve cover gasket on a 2008 Kia Rio Base Model that I had bought from an Auction for a flip. Music- www.patreon.com
These cars are so damn simple and easy to fix up and parts are cheap. Surprising that they are quite reliable. I have a 2006 Rio base model with a 5 speed with 188k miles no lights or anything still going strong as hell. Only thing i need to do is the struts, but im saving up for some lowering springs or coilovers. Its actually quite a nice car.
You’re right they are reliable! My 2010 Rio has 301k miles on it. Lower main seal leaks oil but I’m not gonna worry about it. Just gonna do the valve cover gasket and tube seals next week. Same problem with coils getting oil on them and causing misfires.
GREAT video! I want to change spark plugs and coil packs on my daughter's Rio today only to find a lot of oil where there shouldn't be any. This video is immensely helpful! Thanks a lot
Ah amazing! I have changed my coils like 5 times in three years. Noticed oil on the coils and minor leaks under the car. Gonna do this! Question: are the old coils toast if they misfire? They are literally 3 months old and all 4 went out .. again!
Uh... Went a little crazy with that sealant, eh? Lol How's she running now? Any updates from the buyer? And was it running when you first bought it at auction?
I know lol...I was just worried about leaks. It ran great after the valve cover gasket and the buyer is happy with it. It was running good when I bought it from the auction. It just had a leak around the Valve Cover and the Spark Plugs.
@@Curiousminds80 Thanks. Having a similar issue with my car, except it completely stopped running. But it looks like it completely blew out the old gasket and one of the tube gaskets because of a failed PCV Valve.
It can be both. I would replace both the valve cover gasket with the rings that go around the coils to prevent any oil leaks to your spark plugs. Good luck 👍🏼
@@Curiousminds80 looks like Filipino. google translator says "Boss, why is my Kia air cleaner 2009 model making noise, it's hard to pull when I start the selenizer"
Thank you for the upload! I have a Hyundai Accent with same engine. I've been chasing a misfire for too long. There's a chance it's my PCV valve- after changing nearly everything else. Found oil all over my expensive new spark plugs, so I need to change those gaskets. What valve cover gasket are you using (appears to be quality silicone), how much, and does it come with the gaskets for the spark plug tubes? Thanks!
I bought the valve voice gasket from Autozone and it did come with 4 spark plugs tubes. Here is the Autozone link www.autozone.com/external-engine/valve-cover-gasket/p/fel-pro-valve-cover-gasket-vs50705r/217584_0_0
@@Curiousminds80 thanks for the reply. I already got it done. The old sparkplug tube gaskets were shot, and likely the cause for the vacuum leak. Runs much better despite having one of the valve cover bolts break. Now to get that out and replaced!
