Because I only have 2 hands and this cannot be done with 1 hand on the camera. First remove the buld from the housing, if you're lucky you'll have enough slack to pull the connector off easily while bulb is out of the housing. For me, one of the bulbs had almost no slack at all making it real difficult so I ended up using pliers since I had to do this while the bulb was still somewhat in the housing due to no slack on the wire connector. Hope this helps you out ✌

I'm showing in the video that I removed the headlight on the right side that you can see on your screen. I showed the headlight missing so you could see. Either way I replaced the one on the right of your screen 1st to try and show the difference. ✌

Nope. They really don't throw out much light. They're more like a daytime running light to be seen, not really to light up the road. Thanks!

The headlights on this particular model car is made for hid bulb so it's not gonna melt anything unless you go higher wattage... but putting hid bulbs in reflector housings can melt some stuff not always but can...

As mentioned by Marco, if your car already has hid bulbs like mine then you can install any hid bulb with no issue. If you dont already have hid bulbs you would need to purchase the hid headlight assembly so that you dont have any issues. ✌

We keep our drl off so just the corner lights and lower drl comes on. I will look into this but I have seen the led bulbs at autozone for the drl.

Okay, basically this bulb in most vehicles serves as a high beam and during the day lower power is sent to it making it a drl. If you have the hid bulbs in your headlights you should search for h15 led fog light. You will have better luck finding an led bulb for your drl instead of the high beam bulb.

@@BasikVids_4_Life any idea if anyone has repurposed the drl bulbs to function as supplemental high beams that turn on with the HID high beams? I'm curious if that socket (housing and electrical) is able to handle a higher wattage without melting or blowing fuses. I know this is beyond the scope of this video, but I thought I would ask just in case you happened to know. BTW... I noticed from the license plate you are in MN. I'm in Saint Paul. 2016 Edge Sport, same as the one in this video except I've got the 21" wheels. 🤘

There shouldn't be any issue with led other than not as bright as halogen or hid. Led bulbs run cooler than others.

@Bois B Did you try LEDs? I have a 2016 Edge Sport just like the one in this video, with factory HIDs. I am curious how well LEDs would work in the HID projectors. Otherwise I'll be going with the RCP HIDs from amazon. Thanks.

What model and year? Are you talking about HID bulbs or Halogen bulbs?

@@chocboywundathanks for clarifying. Here's why I recommend removal. The hid is very sensitive to shock or touch and has to be seated perfectly in there or it will blow if any movement. Also, it will be difficult to install the bulb without scrapping or touching the bulb which will also cause it to blow prematurely. Guessing that might be why you have had to replace twice already? It is so easy to remove the entire headlight and that is the only way to be 100% sure it is installed perfectly so not sure why you wouldn't want to? Still have the same bulbs since this video and no issues. Thanks for the input ✌

can you please share how you can do that? i have a 2016 MKX and need to change out the D3S hd bulbs for newer brighter ones...

Craig Ellis Denson I have a 2015 Ford Edge sport. It’s a little tight but I can maneuver enough to get the headlights and the high beam but I cannot hey the turn signal bulbs. I would have to remove them for that

I recommend switching to an hid kit in that situation. You'll be amazed how much brighter lights are. 👌

Not sure what you are referring to but no damage was done here. The pliers were used to pull back on the plug to remove carefully with finesse, not squeeze or crush anything. Thanks for your input though ✌

No need to disconnect battery. You will want to be able to check your lights after installing each to make sure they fire up so...

@@BasikVids_4_Life Thanks for the info! Before I go any further, I need to replace the bulb caps, they are rotted/crumbling as I try to take them off. This '16 Edge Sport is my 3rd Edge. Started with an '11(hit some deer!), traded that for an '14, put 100k on that one. Found this '16 with only 50k and took the plunge! Great car(s)!

In this case they are different color because they are led vs hid. Thanks for your insight ✌

Fog lights can be the same color. Has nothing to do with color.
