Would you be kind enough to advise me on how to replace the Camshaft plug cover caps on a 320cdi, V6 which r placed on the front sides ! I have seen you do it on the petrol version which r on the rear. Also tool to use.Its a OM642 engine !!s

Easy job! Guy I used to work for had a collection of valve covers already cleaned and resealed. The swap was done very quickly. I don't see where you showed to unbolt the dip stick tube and bend it away from the cover...

my car is running hot and i notice oil coming from the top of the gasket where the silicone goes. can this cause your car to over heat with out a check engine light coming on . it only said check antifreeze but went right away and the antifreeze is full

I just bought a C240 2003 model- With the same type of problem of the leaky valve cover . I had the mechanic check the car before I bought it and he pointed this. My question is is the 2003 model differs from the 2005 model as far as replacing the valve cover gasket? Also , there is a common problem of a faulty transmission plug that causes transmission fluid to leak to the bottom of the engine housing. Is replacing this transmission plug difficult? (the mechanic said its function is to send all the tranny signals to the computer I believe. Please advise and thanks in advance

thecellaronline i'm pretty sure the 2005 is the same as a 2003 as far as the valve cover goes. The transmission plug is very easy unplugged electrical connector and inside it will be a small bolt,remove the bolt Pull the connector out of the transmission install new connector into transmission tighten a bolt and reconnect the wires. The connector will be on the passenger-side at the front of the transmission.

important question. I replaced 4 breather hoses on my 2002 c240 and the one hose in the back driver's side part of the engine had 3 ports. 1 on each end and 1 sticking out of the side of the hose. the part number on the old hose is A 112 018 0682 the new hose I got in the mail only had 2 ports, one on each end. the part number on the new hose is a 112 018 0482. I'm wondering if that part has been revised to where I just plug the nipple that goes into the 3rd port on the old hose and just slap in the new one.

ICEFOOL as far as I know that hose has not been updated. Sounds like you may have the wrong part.

How to Automotive Maybe. I just don't understand how both of the hoses are compatible with the c240's from 01-05. they are the same length and how it curves. It's just the original hose has 1 extra port.
