Hooking up an after market stereo to an Astra Mk5. Stereo starts as ignition is on. Red wire needs to be connected to plug next to cigarette plug. How to replace / change vauxhall / opel Astra H 2006 CD player
Hello! Thanks for making this video i was able to install my stereo but when i start the engine i hear a static noise in the background and when i accelerate the noise is changing too. Do you know how to fix that or what causing the problem? Might be the grounding on the stereo? I also checked the wiring harness and it seems to be okay the wires are there where they needs to be.

Hi! I know this video is old, but I have an issue I legit don't understand and can't find any information on the Internet. I used your video to connect my Pioneer 2Din radio and it worked until I had to change my cars battery. That plug doesnt work, if I try to take straight from cigarette plug which is always on then the radio works... Could you please help me?

Hi! Any ideas if i don't have an extra port next to the cigarette lighter in my Astra H? I only have to wires but both are connected to the cigarette lighter.
You can keep them via getting a stalk adapter or a CP adaptor usually around £25 (eBay) they have a switch toggle for different makes. yeah you have to plug the red wire to power up your stereo, when ignition is on. Some people plug to the light wires, so the stereo plays even if ignition is off, until you open the door
i'am very sure that is working, at least with that adaptor from the germany man from youtube.... but i don't understand what he said and even to see so much i couldn't...
I've followed your video and had replaced my factory cd player with the aftermarket one using same looking wires from amazon and can confrim that the buttons on the stearing wheel are not functioning.
i have done same job as u ... but now i got problem radio doesnt give life to it ... it got power cose the light is colored blue but to turn it on after that nothing happends ... anyone know's what the problem is ? i wpuld be thankfoul 😊 *sry for mine bad english*
@@Sayannx personally if it would be just a sound quality I wouldn't change from original radio to aftermarket. As I didn't notice any big difference from the original. The only reason I went for aftermarket radio is because it's much easier to connect sub :)
take off cigarette plug panel, and underneath you should find the socket 12v, u might want to use Spade Terminal that makes easier just to plug in. Hope that helps :)
you know you don't need to take all that off just old cdplayer out and take out the ashtray in its that easy but that 12 v power supply plug in is odd i didn't know about it till i looked into it then after 2 cd players i realized oh iplugin there XD lol
I agree with you about not having to remove all that, do you know if the plug is connected to the ignition so that it switches on and off with the key, I ask cause my cigarette lighter socket is always on
