Good job. All the nuts and bolts should be imperial on your car, 13mm and 1/2" are 2 of the same. Choke cable and flasher switch next on the list then Matt?
So im in a parts limbo right now. A fellow YTer said he'd send me somethings im missing, so im looking forward to that. I want to do the rear diff fluid but its been sooo cold that that stuff will be impossible to pump through my transfer pump with how thick it is when cold. I want to start on the passenger floor pan but its load and will really upset my Mrs. If I start grinding at night again haha. The switch is coming via the YT friend and I cant install a choke cable without the linkage between the SUs which I dont possess. I also need to figure out my heater core flow valve. The cable is not connected to anything at the moment
I have to disagree. Every bolt on my triumph is standard. The 73 mgbgt I had. Had metric, standard, and witworth. Not to mention the British sized Phillips headed bolts.
You used to be able to buy 2 pint plastic bottles of Castrol EP90 with a flexi tube to fill the back axle! Don't know if there still available? You need a good transfer pump to pump EP90!
@@petedrago1 this motor in mine is likely 35 or so. Its not the original, its a gold seal put in after the original died. Car has 110k on the body I believe if the Odometer is correct. Only shows 10k
@@BrailsfordsRides I heard that. I still need to send you all those parts. I could not find the reverse light body, but have the lens. If you need those I wll send those too and keep an eye out for the body, if I find them I will send them.
@@theawakening5548 I appreciate any help I'm given, and I truly appreciate the kindness here. Will definitely clean up and fix a few of my problems. I need to do another live at some point and get some more MG folks in there. Trying to stay 50 50 to not scare them away with Mustang Content
@@BrailsfordsRides No worries, I am sorry that you have been waiting for me to send that stuff out, we have been trying to secure the glass so it does not get broke. Hopefully we will send it out to you soon.
"I don't know how many things I've done wrong on this car, but been a lot of lessons" If that ain't the truth with any car. I'm in the same boat and I'd say 90% of other car people are too
@@BrailsfordsRides my 79 MGB has started to overheat after ten minute of driving and I suspect its either the water pump or the thermostat, I just bought a water pump and a thermostat to replace both. What is your opinion on why my MGB overheat so quick?
@@pedromeza2398 It could be any of the cooling components. How does the coolant look coming out of the radiator? Radiator could also be fouled, is the pump making noise?
@@BrailsfordsRides the water pump is quiet, I didn't think of checking the color of the coolant because the radiator is the original which is sealed and connects to a metal overflow tank that has a radiator cap. I will flush it out once I remove it and see what it look like.
