They all have emergency BIOS recovery of some sort... you just need to know the key combination to enter recovery which differs for each manufacturer.

Happen to know what key combo to press on acer laptops ?? My nitro 5 isnt booting , just a light show now :(

Yes, you're correct, this is recovering the EEPROM BIOS chip, not the IO chip.

Check voltages, is fuse intact? No burned parts? Of any capasitor as a bulge, or open top, replace. Best, most cheap is buy new psu. But try using a volt/amp meter. Better not connect to wall wen psu is open and measuring, u be dead soon if you did. Measure if standby voltage is there and lookup hownto wirenit in swithon mode. Then measure other wires and voltage ok line. Watch videos on basic electronic repair on how to check resistors, capasitors and transistors. Probably a burned resistor or dead cap. Again, replacing psu is easiest, but learning is fun.

@@CodeAsm thanks for the reply, but the fact that one of your warnings contains a probability of death is the reason I would love someone that know what they are doing to walk me through safe steps of what NOT to touch with a tester. I know you guys say "just buy a new one" but here in my country $60 is rent for a month. Computer parts are a luxary I cannot afford to just buy every other month, cause power surges here are an every day occurance

@@mikeurbizo4210 maybe Sorin replies, else watch some videos from Electroboom, while filled with funny things, it's also filled with basic electronic lessons with alott of the dangers shown. Videos on basic measuments with a vom (volt ohm metre). Basically if you disconnect the PSU, and wait a few minutes to an hour, or use a isolated screwdriver (no touch the metal part) and short the + and - pins of the larger capasitors, they will be drained and most dangers will be gone. Some electronic lessons on the internet(yt) might help diagnosing. I'm not expecting anyone to be able to explain all the tricks and debugging in one comment (like me) or email. Alott is learner from seeing how to measure, what parts are, and just trying. Proper grounding yourself or isolating yourself is also handy to know when to apply. There are quite alott of power supply repair videos, I think most of them generally teach alott of the diagnosing skills and are generally equivalent. Hope they inform safety aswell well enough

It should be possible, worst case, buy a preprogrammed bios flashchip and solder it in place of your old one. Or let someone do it for you. Just 8 pins on most flashroms.

@@cistokrvnibosanac1266 unprogrammed not much, 1 to 5 euro dollars depending on the amount of storage. The smaller ones ofcourse cheaper. Preprogrammed depends on the seller. Had to buy a 32mbit rom for 12 euro. Preprogrammed, worked nice. Bought a programmer myself later for arround 20. Now I can program any myself. Look on eBay, for an indication atleast. Some ROMs need a bit of work, like adding unique serial numbers, other laptops store that on a different chip. If you can rea dthe old one, you might be able to recover the rom.

Narasimha B it is. You should check out My Digital Life forums and win bios forums for guides. This works on older laptops using insyde bios too. Each manufacturer will have their specific key press though so do some research. If unsure join the Discord where someone may be able to assist 👍😎

My Acer aspire one netbook from 2010 has this too, resurrected it twice with this method. Then flash died, soldering in new one and used method again. Still kinda works, it's just a super slow machine by today's standards. My Lenovo can do too, but firmware must be signed by Lenovo, can't flash a whitelist removed bios for any wifi, I need real external programmers for that

you dont need it .. you can update bios from Device manager directly

I think the cause of this problem when i installed windows 10 by GPT format,i change the bios option so i can instal it, and was installed sucessfuly, But later on i got the problem, i can't boot windows and i can't get into bios..the screen just flashing!!😑 Any idea please?

​ @qaddory You can enter to bios settings in 4 ways: 1.power-up the laptop and keep pressing F2 and release and again pressing - do it quickly all the time in the loop 2.power-up the laptop and keep pressing F10 - then you will see boot menu - you can select last option "enter setup" 3.remove hard drive from laptop, and with no DVD-disk inside and no pendrive inside usb, power-up the laptop. 4. take out small bios battery on the motherboard to reset bios settings to default mode. --------- as you know correctly - if you are using GPT installation on pendrive (instead of MBR) you have to change bios settings from "legacy" to "uefi boot/ ufefi mode/etc", this will allow you to install Windows in GPT mode, BUT if you had installed before Windows with MBR on hard disk -and now you're trying to install new Windows but this time in GPT mode then you have to remember that during installation process - when you're selecting partitions on hard drive to install windows - you HAVE TO remove everything -delete all partitions -and create new one - because only then your hard drive will be converted from MBR to GPT mode. Otherwise, there is another way - if you need your old partiotions and you cannot delete all - then you can keep your old partitions in MBR mode but you have to take out your hard drive from laptop, connect it to other laptop/PC and use software like AOMEI Partition Assistant to convert disk from MBR to GPT (right click on main block of your hard drive (not on partitions but on the main block with size of hard disk) and on the pop-up menu you will find "convert to GPT disk" So you have few ways to do it. I've already done the 3 steps you've mentioned, but nothing happened.the screen just flashing..i will try step 4 even i don't have idea where exactly this bettery on motherboard or how it looks like..but i'll try. About the installation, yes i did the same and that which makes the problem!i don't know why! Maybe because my laptop too old.. The main problem i can't get the bios options to reset it back to mbr..
