How to Reset a Tripped Breaker 

My husband passed away. He would always try to show me, and I would learn and always forget. The power went out in our daughter's bedroom. Thank you for this video; it helped us out so much! Blessings to you.

Thank you so so much!!! As a single mom, I don’t know how to do everything around the house when it breaks and I can’t afford to always call a service man. I had to replace the timer on my dryer and in doing that- I had the back panel off while waiting for new timer to arrive. (The stem broke) as I was drying a load of clothes, I knocked the timer box out of the bracket by accident and sparks flew. When the new timer came, I stripped the melted wire tip and replaced the terminal. Hooked everything up and .. no power! I didn’t check the breaker for a while- but when I did.. I couldn’t get it to stay in the ON position. I followed your directions and now my dryer works! Thank you thank you thank you!!! 😁 EXTREMELY HELPFUL!

Same deal. Just turn it all the way off then back on. However, if your main breaker tripped is may have been caused by a surge into the house, rather than an overload in your home.

Hah hah! So simple. The power went out in my master and guest bedroom because I had a space heater AND a sit under hair dryer plugged into the outlets in my bedroom. Went down to the breaker box to simply turn it back on. Didn't work. So I've been without power for two days- until now. Was headed to Lowe's to try to by "amps" to "install" myself (I know, I know). Lol. Silly me. Thanks for this. Easy fix.

That didn't work for me. So what I had to do was turn off the breaker across from the one that wasn't working and turn on both breakers at the same exact time. And then it start working

My switch won’t go back on it’s very loose. The panel says to reset move switch to extreme off then to on but it doesn’t do anything.

So what if it doesnt switch back to the on position. It switches off then goes back to the middle when trying to turn it back on🤦‍♀️

I'll admit I was upset watching this at first. I've reset breakers before so I didn't feel you showed anything I didn't already know until I watched until the end. My problem was that the breaker wasn't fully in the off position, it just looked like it was so it wasn't resetting properly. Once I saw you push it fully in that position, I did the same thing and it worked. 😉

Bro omg i thought i was fucking stupid when i tried to ‘turn the switch back on’ like my dad over the phone told me but i looked this up after and realized that he wasn’t explaining it very clearly to me (i have a very hard time with instructions and “turn it all the way off” didn’t click for me) until i was shown (by you) that i did literally have to turn it all the way off I felt like the smartest man on earth thank you so much❤❤

Your breaker panel box looks like you do not have any double pole breakers in it. Mine has singles & doubles and one of the double(2 pole) breakers has messed up. My hot water tank gave out & had to have it replaced b\c it stopped heating water * had a slow leak in bottom of tank the plumber said. After replacing water tank & turning breaker on that was already in off position. Plumber notice it wasn't getting any electricity to water take & told me breaker needed replacing. But I felt the breaker had tripped b\c from time to time the single breakers wld trip & we always did what the electrician told us when new panel box was installed about 6 yrs ago.

What does it mean when you do flip it to OFF then back ON and the lights stay on for about seconds then the breaker switch trips again and goes back to the middle?
