Thanks for this, my Charge 3 wasn't letting me check other screens on the device (could only see the screen), it also didn't appear to be charging, but after doing this both the battery indicator went up and I could check other screens again
Thank you so much. My screen on my Fitbit was all black and when I would press the indent thing it would vibrate like normal but nothing was coming up on the screen - it was just black. I charged it to 100% and it still was black. After watching this video it turned back on - thank you so so much I was really getting worried 👍🏻
Great, glad we helped someone. Out of interest what device where you syncing with? We are are trying to get an idea of "problem" devices with Fitbit. And eventually try and get them to address the issues.

Lol only got my Fitbit yesterday and I needed to reset it a few times already to try and get it to work with my android phone. Gave up eventually and I just bought an older iPhone 7 plus. Fingers crossed it will just work 🤔

Thank you, good and clear directions. My question is: when I reset my FB 3 it does the 7 vibration pulses ( after a loooooong wait?, then stays in the long line mode. It does not go to the smiley face until I release the charger and put back on again. This is different from your video, not sure if its the same thing regardless.
Hi, I have just bought a fitbit charge 3. Set up everything fine but the screen does not illuminate when I turn my wrist, only when I touch the screen. Any fixes please? I thought I may need to re-set, which I did but no change.
SLI Guy 1982 thanks for the feedback! Please consider sharing the video and information on your social media, it really helps to get the message out there.
SLI Guy 1982 so you did the reset and it fixed it. Nothing works for me because i cancelled the update when it was installing then accidentally unpaired mine from my phone ig I’m sol
Sean Moist121 damn that sucks. I noticed shortly after I woke up yesterday that the screen wasn’t working. I did what he said in this video and the smiley face popped up and then the screen was working again.
My Charge 3 will not sync with my iPhone 10. I have reset using this method and also by going through the settings on the Fitbit. Any other ideas Mike? Thank you!
there has been a lot of issues with bluetooth modules failing, definitely worth getting in touch with fitbit support and explaining your problem, best case scenario they send you and new fitbit
my wife's charge 3 refused to charge yesterday, so there is no charge for her to be able to do what you show in your video any advice would be appreciated, I have informed the seller and am awaiting a reply. thank you!
Mich it is the same with a LOT of devices at the moment. iPhone is really bad with no sound in calls and probably worse now than android was. Things are getting more and more complex and cheaper to make. That equals trouble in my opinion.

Great stuff Mike - I can't get my to sync with my LG Android and I can't get the updates to take either, used to work fine, but with the new update I've had no success, any thoughts?
I did a video highlighting some of the problems faced after updates here ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-G6_fcpJUOZ8.html hopefully this will help you.
Hello Mike, thanks for the video. Indeed, I would like to know how to reset all the data collected until this day, since I have bought my device from another user. I would be very grateful if his history registered in the device would be deleted. Thank you!
Hi Mike have done the reset but still cant connect to Fitbit app or bluetooth it says that couldn't pair please my settings. Could you help me with this please
I would like a video on Bluetooth Charge 3 connection issues for Iphone (like the one you have for Android). My Charge 3 won't stay connected, won't do all-day sync so no notifications. I think it's an iphone issue since my Garmin has similar problem!
I'll be honest most of the issues with these devices are Android Issues. Iphones in generally are fully tested to work with the devices. What iphone are you using?
Well, I got the smilie face but the total steps still didin't got to where it's supposed to be. It wasn't updating, Fitbit Chat fixed it online but the actual fitbit still lists the wrong number.
Having a issue with the screen going black and not turning back in. Still vibrate when I connect to the charger but no response on the screen please help
I charged my fitbit charge 3 to 100% and put it on. In a couple hours or so, it was dead. I recharged it to 93% which it charged pretty fast. by morning it was dead again. PURE black screen. I now charged it up again and will let you know what happens.
my fitbit is not connected to the phone, and the screen is turned blank dark. I tried your tips it vibrated and shows smiley face and for a sec it shows loading sign and turned off again. can anyone help with this
Hi Mike. I've tried your advice to reset the Charge 3 (I've also seen this advice elsewhere online& on forums) but to no avail. My issue is I get the smiley face with the reset but the green lights still aren't on (that has been the issue all along). I've also switch Bluetooth amd location services off&on to no avail. Prior to all this, I deleted the app, restarted my phone and reinstalled the app but to no avail. Any suggestions? I can't call Fitbit help due to their support services being limited, probably due to Coronavirus.
if the green lights are not functioning at all then you most likely have a hardware fault and you will probably be best waiting to speak to fitbit support when available
Thank you - now I know what the smiley face means :0) Once I get the smiley face I see the reboot (line across the screen) but it just never turns back on - my iphone shows it is charged. hmmmm???
Mine will say "We found your tracker", I can get the watch to smile and it stays on "Connecting to Tracker" and never connects. I haven't even had the Charge 3 for a year. The warranty should be at least 2 years.
My screen is black but it buzzes and the green light turns on. Also still syncs with phone. I went for a nap and when i woke up the display wasnt working
That is very strange. So it is probably a faulty screen or a software glitch. I would try a reset and if that doesn't fix it consider starting a return with fitbit chat
Mike's unboxing, reviews and how to got it to restart thankfully. Probably just a glitch. I was worried i got it too wet or something but i thought charge 3 was water proof anyway haha
Try cleaning the contacts with a ear bud or lint free cloth. If it doesn't improve i would raise a support ticket with fitibit and try and get a replacement. These things are vert well made now.
@@mikesunboxing I have phoned Fitbit and they have sent the request to the higher department. They will let me know on Monday what to do. I got it from littlewoods so I will either get a replacement from them or fitbit. Thank you for your help.
Hopefully you'll get a good result Fitbit generally try to look after their customers despite sometimes the tracker is not working as intended let me know how you get on
Have to reset this device many times, a lot of black screens but can feel the device vibrate when the button is pressed, sync is very unreliable. IMHO this is a terrible device. If the shop would give me a refund I'd return it in a heartbeat.
Where did you buy it? Also if the device is faulty or not working as intended most regions have consumer protection for that sort of thing. Where in the World are you?
@@mikesunboxing I'm in Australia and bought it at a retail store. Their refund policy only allows refunds for any of the following: Are not of merchantable quality; Are not fit for its purpose; Do not match the sample. For now I've gone back to a Samsung wearable. Main reason I bought Fitbit was for the Windows 10 support which the Samsung doesn't have but I can see this was a mistake, the Windows 10 performance with syncing is really bad, most of the time it doesn't find the device, and I've tried this on 2 PCs and a laptop. I'm thinking the store will just try to see this as a change of mind decision but it's worth a try.
You could argue that the device is not suitable or is not fit for purpose as it will not synchronise with your Windows 10 device as it is supposed to this should be covered by your retail or shoppers rights I'm not too clued up on the Australian law but from what I've been told it is very similar to UK and European rulings
@@mikesunboxing I ended up getting a refund, syncing was very unreliable using Bluetooth to my S7 phone and also to Windows 10 using a Fitbit dongle. When the device wouldn't sync the only way to get it to sync again was to wipe the data on the device itself which I had to do every couple of days.
Bought fitbit 3 last Wednesday and it was easy to install and worked well in the beginning. Noticed yesterday that there was no sleep registered, and all the steps were not counted saw that I could do an upgrade. So I tried to do that but the upgrade did not work, lacking of Bluetooth, full battery and so on (had all of it) Uninstalled the fit bit app, restarted Bluetooth and phone. Electronics are not my thing (got very frustrated) so after one day I found your video and restarted the fitbit it works very well :) . I have no idée what happened.
That is one of the phones that is supposed to work okay with Fitbit. I think the softwares and hardware needs to be much better for all devices the quality control isn’t great
Ronan Breen thanks for the feedback! Please consider sharing the video and information on your social media, it really helps to get the message out there.
I followed the instructions and is still not working the smiley face comes up but the screen goes pitch black then the sad face comes back up again please help 😔
From what i have seen and experienced that is a specific hardware fault that would need to be looked into by Fitbit as there is no current option to hook up any form or USB debugging tool. Sorry i cant be more helpful, my only advice would be to make sure the battery is fully charged and try again.
@@mikesunboxing Thanks for responding I really appreciate it after watching your video I sent fitbit an email and today they responded I'm happy to announce that they are going to send me a brand new replacement in 5 to 7 days
Charge three Fitbit had mine for three months I fucking hate this thing. Constantly problems syncing with my phone wasted hours resetting it. It is a piece of shit
Yes agree totally the charge 2 was a real upgrade from the HR but the charge 3 doesn't bring much to the table and loses important things like the date, which is a totally Stupid decision
Mike's unboxing, reviews and how to Can't even choose the display you want! I always had my calories in the front but now I have to scroll all the way down to see how many I burned. The battery also seems to be worse from my experience! The physical build also has really narrow spaces that allow for dust to build up and it's really difficult to clean. The syncing is horrible and even trying this reset I can't seem to connect it to my phone. Hopefully the software issues will be fixed within a month.
It isn't the product launch i had hoped for. Still no real reason to stop using my Surge as my daily use tracker. Although my Wife seems to like the Charge 3 for now.
Mike's unboxing, reviews and how to If it isn't too much can you give any tips about connecting the device to my phone? I put on the code displayed in the watch and the app says "Connecting" but it never does. I tried countless resets, restarted my phone/bluetooth but I had no luck. Thanks in advance!
