while it is updating what should it say its in recovery mode itunes is downloading a software update this this phone and will install when the download is complete and on the phone it just has a charger and itunes picture what does it mean

I done wat u said I put on restore it took to update it's showed upto some were about 5 gb is needed and I continued the process but after it moves to 1.17gb the iphone restarts itself and came back to the same that phone is locked how can we fix thise prblm

FOR ANYONE HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THIS: Try following the steps in the video but DO NOT POWER THE PHONE BACK ON after you plug it in. Simply hold the "volume down" key down until the recovery screen appears. Then select Restore or Update on your computer. This is the only procedure that worked for my daughters iPhone 7!!

When I do this with my iPhone 7 exactly the same way I still cannot get the iTunes connect screen to pop up it's only just the apple logo and then goes to the regular home screen. Nothing on iTunes on my lap top will pop up either. The cord I'm using is good and the volume button works. What's the problem?

@@nickscomputerfixcan this take hours? my cousin gave me the phone but his apple id was on it and i hit factory reset and it’s taking like more than 20 minutes. not sure if it’s bc it isn’t my own apple id. he couldn’t remember his passcode on that phone so he got another one and ended up resetting his icloud password in the new phone.

When you go to restore it takes a long time for the restore software to down load to your PC.Check the meter going round top right of iTunes screen,just restored my iPhone and it took 15+ mins.

You will need to delete a few personal files like: pictures, videos and/or music...etc to try and get enough storage space for the restore and update files to run. Or try to copy them off to your computer or a flash drive so they are not lost if you need to save them.
