All, the videos I watched to get this year old Roku remote working, your video is the one that worked!!! The message I was getting on Roku, in the remote section was> your remote is asleep. What ever that meant, your suggestion worked; Thank you so very much, I really appreciate it!👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks soooo much!!!!!!! This helped connect my new remote cause I lost my other one and couldn’t use the phone remote because my internet wasn’t connect to my roku. Thanks a millionnnnnn!
After a night of blinking by - now what I know to be - the *pairing light* which was paired with freshly charged batteries, this solution worked perfectly!
I think unplug the device and remove batteries from the remote. I had the remote doing extra inputs for one. So I tried this to maybe reset the remote to work on Vudu and max . Viola it worked now I don’t have to try to hit a button to watch something like a game lol. Great video
@Average Me: I did what you said and it didn’t work for me so I turned my tv off and unplugged it for 30 seconds or less. Then plugged my tv back on. My Roku remote is now working! Sometimes, I think the memory on my tv runs out and I have to shutdown my tv to reset it over again. This is the default fix for our big screen 4k smart tv.
Thanks for this video. I tried new batteries and still had no response. I hit the reset but was only flashing. So unplugging the power cable, and then plugging back in the remote would Pair with my Streaming Stick after it resets.
FYI if you accidentally wash and dry your remote in the laundry (it got wrapped up in a blanket) just replace batteries and repair as directed here. Thank you!
My right arrow button won’t work. That’s it. Every other button works fine except this button. I don’t know if it’s the remote or the TV. Few mos ago I got a new Roku Device/Remote. That one sucked. I’d have to press the buttons like 20 times to get it to do anything. Then suddenly the power button wouldn’t work. I had to press the button on the Tv to get it on/off. I don’t understand what’s wrong. Is my Tv not letting remote connect. Do I need new batteries for my remote? Why is this issue popping up after 3mos?
I can't say for sure, but I'd start with fresh batteries and a complete re-set of the remote and Roku. If it's not a Roku TV, I'd completely unplug and remove the Roku, and start over, letting the TV recognize the Roku device.
My numbers are out of sequence. Use to start at 1 and go up in order now can be any # and I just have to keep going till I randomly find what I am looking for. Going to try this see if it works.
My Roku remote doesn’t have a battery compartment. It’s a rechargeable remote control. I’m able to navigate around the menu home screen but it doesn’t let me power it off/on and it doesn’t let me turn up/down the volume button either.
I cannot reach the Roku connection in order to unplug it and then plug it back in. If I just do the removal of the batteries & press the reset button would that work?
My old ROKU stick stopped working so I got a Express 4K+. Every thing works fine except I can't control the volume or private listening. I went on line to try to talk to person but had to text with a computer loaded with standard responses. How do I get to a person on the phone. Thanks
I Bought a Roku from a Goodwill and it has someone information on it and want to factory reset! Even has their debit card information but they have a pin code and I can't factory reset it. Do you know a way around that? I tried to email them but they haven't replied .
To pair a Roku remote without a pairing button, turn off the Roku device, remove the remote's batteries, wait 30 seconds before putting them pack in and powering the device back on, then attempt line-of-site control. If that doesn't work, download the Roku app and pair the remote manually.
