What a jolly nice chap you are, Rex - I'm an XRP maxi - love your, and the app's, reference to XRP as 'Ripple'. makes me giggle every time when I hear that term. In my opinion, once much more widely adopted, XRP will once again be commonly accepted as Ripple (or Ripples) rather than XRP. XRP just doesn't roll as nicely as Ripple does. Runs on Ripple. Is it a security problem if someone else gets possession of my xpub keys (extended public keys) from out of the Ethereum wallet in ledger. And could it compromise the assets in other wallets in ledger live as well ?

"if your ledger nano s came with a pin code or a recovery phrase, it's not safe to use and you should contact ledger support. only use a recovery phrase that your device displayed when it was set up." -this message scares me, and I'm too afraid to do anything while I send my old PC to the shop. I have my 24-word seed phrase. My ledger nano s let me set up my own pin code, but I don't remember how/where I got the 24-word seed phrase when I set everything up years ago.

Thanks for the video. I stored some Neo and XLM on my Nono S all the way back in 2018. I’ve been trying to acces the wallet for a while now but it keeps giving a can’t connect messsge. I’ve tried everything suggested by Ledger but nothing working. Can I reset the Ledger I have in some way to see if that works. Many thanks.

I'm wondering how the Ledger Nano products and Trezor products aren't just scams. I was able to take that seed phrase over to electrum and transfer money out of the Ledger account with no hardware.

Hello Rex. Is it possible to withdraw bitcoins from a paperwallet using the ledger nano? I have seen a lot of videos saying that all software realated wallets are potentially compromised therefore the best way to handle your coins is by the use of a hardware wallet. If that is true, how can a take the bitcoins out from a paper wallet without using a software wallet and only with a hardware wallet?

I have extracted the primary key from current Nano S device and imported it to an online app. For security purpose, I need to stop using the current Nano S device and transfer to a new Nano S device. If i do restore, I assume the primary key would keep the same. Could you please advise on how to transfer to a new device?

Help!!! hi, I've been recently having trouble moving my bitcoin from coinbase pro to my Nano S.. Every time I try this, the funds are automatically moved from Coinbase Pro to Coinbase, instead of Ledger. I just clicked on "About" on Nano S, it says Ledger Live version 1.13.2. I tried to repair my nano S after "MCU is not geniune" i followed the steps to repair but on ledger live it instructs "open the manager and click update firmware" but when i go to the device to do that it gives me no option to update, it just goes to settings and shows me my current version (S E 1.3.1 and MCU 1.6) and if i click "reset all" it just brings me back to step 1. any help would be appreciated. thank you

Enjoyed your video and it was easy to follow your steps. I'm very concerned that my Nano app is corrupted and worried about resetting it. I purchased another Nano to try the reset you're describing. Should I be concerned? I'm leaning towards the recovery phrase will get me back onboard to view my wallet.

I moved my crypto from my desktop to the Nano S. Everything went ok. I then tried to do the firmware update and it didn't go smoothly at all. It froze on update for hours. I found it was a driver issue on the pc. Cleared that up and the update went to processing. In a few minutes it asked me for my pin. I entered the pin and but made a mistake halfway through. It then asked for recovery. I entered my 12 words and it came back invalid. Now when I try to sign on to it, it say welcome as if I'm a new user. I now have my Nano S, my 8 digit pin and my 24 word seed but no access to my crypto. Questions, are my coins still safe in my wallet? Anyone know how Nano can go about straightening this mess out?

Hello Rex, Thanks for all your videos which are very helpful but I still can't get my crypro amounts to show up on my nano s. I bought my 1st nano s Dec/2017, loaded some BTC and ETH then left it alone for a year, did not do any updates during that time as well. The original recovery phrase would not open, so I bought another nano s. I had saved the recovery phrase on a spreadsheet and today I noticed I had 2 sets of recovery phrases. I tried the original phrase on both and they did not work. The 2nd set of phrases worked on the old and new nano s and it opened. Following your lead, I completely removed ledger live from my laptop and re-installed it. Removed and reinstalled BTC and ETH accounts but still no crypto balance. Not sure what I am doing wrong but everything looks good except I have no crypro showing in my accounts.. Thank you in advance for any new direction you have. Tony

I have a question Rex I have several Nano S ledger. One of them is on ledger live the other is on Chrome the one that is on Chrome the bitcoin wallet is empty with no Operations that any was sent to that wallet when i know i sent bitcoin to that wallet the same with Ripple wallet??? My ETH is still on there and my LTC is still on there. What do i need to do . I used my other nano Ledger s that I use for ledger live and everything is there.

They put recovery words in that device. Is that safety problem? Someone knows the words or could hack Ledger files. So there is that midleman in Ledger nano? When you restore your cryotos, you can put different pincode in that knew device. So there is that change that someone could restore your crypto..? Maybe someone who Works in Ledger nano?

There is something missing in all of this ledger recovery procedure. If your wallet is stolen or burns up or is otherwise destroyed, how do you get your private keys restored to a new Ledger? Just entering your 24 word recovery phrase doesn't magically put all of your crypto private keys back on the Ledger. They have to be "downlaoded" from somewhere. Where? And if they have to be downloaded from "somewhere", then they must have been stored there at the same time you put them onto your first Ledger device. So where is this mysterious "somewhere" that the recovery procedure uses to obtain and restore your private keys to the new Ledger device? No one ever talks about this, anywhere.

Hello. My laptop broke and after buying a new laptop I have been trying to open or add to the new laptop. Unfortunately Ledger has been absolutely frustrating and has done nothing to help me. If u would please all I am trying to do is add my ledger to the new laptop and just not sure what to do. All ledger told me was to choose initialized device. Could you tell me I'm stuck for a month already trying to update my firmware I've tried everything in the known universe still stuck :( When I plug in holding the left button down it typically goes to Bootloader on the screen then in the manager "restoring MCU" and then to installing firmware in the manager then "Unable to install firmware" in the manager and on the Nano screen reads "Update" That's where it stays and nothing happens for hours. Have tried maybe 100 times - beginning to dream about this little gizmo growing claws and laughing out loud :-) So my question is can I just somehow reset the little rascal and do the entire recovery thing? Start over basically. Problem is when I plug it in without pressing down the left button it goes straight to Update and does not change or do anything no matter what - it's just stuck there. Is there a way to wipe it clean and start over? Thank You!
