I don't think you are meant to add your recovery phrase on your computer as it can be compromised and your funds could be stolen. That's why we are using cold wallets.

you need a camera that can change the :shutter angle" (not the frame rate) as you change the shutter angle the flicker will minimize and you can then select that shutter angle. Unfortunately its pro cameras that can do that like RED, ALEXA, but I'm sure if you look up online you might be able to find one.

Hey there, we never recommend exporting your 24 words recovery phrase outside a Ledger device! as soon as you compromise them, they become at risk. Technically, you are able to export it on Safepal, but doing so is at your own risk!

It would be much easier to recover your seed phrase list on your computer with your ledger on with the computer and install the list .Just pick your proper name on the site and enter in the right order.If there is a way to do this off line then you can have more security.

Obviously the 24 word seed phrase has "been online" too. Is it stored at the Ledger headquarters or somewhere on the blockchain? How else would a new device be able to unlock crypto that was secured with a damaged or lost device? I'm curious how this works.

@@mondoburger9535 thats exactly what it does, the 24 words is a seed to generate wallets, if you recover it from previous creation, it will start generating infite wallets from it, when you access from ledger live, using that seed, it will grab all the wallets that have funds

Hey, That would be great to know, but unfortunately Ledger Live does not store such information so until you re-add each of your accounts manually, Ledger Live won't be able to show them. So please keep a record of all the accounts that you have created to be safe.

Recently I tried connecting my nano x to an old laptop and ledger live being out of date also trying to move a token. As soon as I entered my pin my nano x was apparently reset because the option to create new or reset from phrase appeared. - My question is on my newer laptop I can still open ledger live and see my accounts. Hello, the reset was probably due to the device's defense mechanism and the versions being out of date. Not to worry, this has no impact on your funds. When you install Ledger Live on a new PC, it will prompt you to set up as new. When you go to settings in Ledger Live > help > and Launch device set up, then connect your Ledger device and choose the option "restore from recovery phrase", then you will have to insert your 24 words on the Ledger device (an authentic version of Ledger Live will never ask for your 24 words). Then you can manually add back your accounts and you will see your funds. We hope this helps and we remain available if needed

Just when I plug in the nano x it is prompting for setup. Hello, yes you can connect your Ledger device to Metamask, and create as many addresses as you want. Tried to open a ticket and Ledger are not getting back. Ledger live did not recognise the password so I’ve had to reset. Had to update the nano x, now I’m stuck with a screen of change pin passphrase pin lock reset pairings & device and have just left it. @@handlethehandle7 How do you add it if it makes you set up as new device, on the device. Then on ledger live when you request to use recovery phrase it tells you device is not set up and is trying to make you do it all over again!

followed all the steps and was able to recover my ledger after reset and downloaded the apps again. But i am still getting the "please check that your hardware is set up with the recovery phrase......." error msg when I tried to send or receive crypto

Anyone knows why after changing my laptop, I cant see the eth account on ledger live. I had only eth and btc. btc is visible but eth is not. though on the ledger its visible.

Hello, if you want to use another PC, you do not have to reset your Ledger device. Also, the 24 words recovery phrase should only be inserted on a Ledger device for recovering, never on Ledger Live or any 3rd party wallets! Moreover, a genuine version of Ledger Live will never ask you to enter your 24 words recovery phrase. Beware of fake apps that lure you to do it. You just have to install Ledger Live from Ledger.com on your new PC, connect your device via USB, choose "connect your nano" and then manually add back your accounts. I have my password in a file locked up in a safe. I tried to login on Ledger Live app I entered the password it says incorrect password. I have never changed my password. Can you tell me why this happening?

Hi Dan..... I just formatted my labtop, and try to restore my account. After I opened the Ledger live, I went to the options which I already got my device setup right? First I selected "restore my account" but my nano device dashboard is showing my PIN page and doesn't allow me to select "restore/recovering". What should I do?? Later, I selected "connect my device" option, then after I key in my PIN in my device, and I successfully entered Ledger Live. However, I need to add the accounts in the ledger live in order to see my portfolio. Am I doing correct?? By selecting "connect my device" I do not need to enter my recovery phases??
Hey, you misunderstood one point, and we will gladly clarify. So what you did is correct, you only need to "connect your device" and then add back your accounts manually. You choose the following option "restore from recovery phrase" if your "Ledger" device has been restored/reseted, this is when you will need to enter you 24 words recovery phrase on the device. And the device can be connected to any computer’s or laptop’s Ledger live and access to our account by activating the device using PIN. Do I need my public key too to recover the wallet? Or does it still work when I have only the recovery phrase and let's say I have lost my ledger and my computer and do not know the public address. How is it safe then? Could a theft not just randomly try any combination of recovery phrases until he get's it right and "found" a random wallet?
Hi - no, you only need your recovery phrase. The number of different possible 24 word recovery phrase combinations is about 115 792 089 237 316 195 423 570 985 008 687 907 853 269 984 665 640 564 039 457 584 007 913 129 639 936. Taking that number and comparing it against the number of people using crypto, needless to say it's highly unlikely for a thief to randomly guess a recovery phrase that's currently in use - which is why thieves try to trick you into giving them your recovery phrase instead.
Hello, I did this process for a Nano X which belong to late relative(No idea the sign in details). On my own computer, was able to gain access however on ledger live it doesn't sign me to an account, am I correct in saying they never successfully connected the device to their account?

Hi, your funds are stored on the blockchain. When you reset your Ledger device and set it up with a new 24 word seed phrase, you'll lose access to your accounts. Your funds will still be there, it is just that you will not be able to access them with the new 24 words seed phrase as it's not linked.

That's because Ledger Live doesn't store databases, so every time you install Ledger Live on a separate device, you have to connect your Ledger and add back your accounts! To fix that flickering you need a camera that can change the SHUTTER ANGLE/SHUTTER SPEED (not the frame rate) you will have to try different shutter angles till it goes away, they more pro camera like RED has that capability. In case of damage, loss, or theft of your Ledger device, you can get back access to your accounts using your 24-word recovery phrase, by restoring it on a new Ledger device. Your crypto assets are not stored inside the Ledger device nor the Ledger Live application. Rather, they are stored on the blockchain. Your Ledger hardware device just holds the private keys (seed phrase) that provide access to your funds on the blockchain. So once you restore your new Ledger device with the same 24 words seed phrase you generated with your old broken device, it will give your new device access to your existing accounts on the blockchain. @@Ledger Ok, I got through the restore the 24 words, but then when i went to add the crypto it went into a thinking mode and the phrase vires in numeris showed on my device. i understand the phrase, but the live ledger stayed in a download mode for an hour and a half, then the words download disappeared. it never said anything else, the logo for the crypto never showed on my device, the account was never added. usually when I go to my ledger live it prompts me to plug in my device, but it never did that this time. the ledger live is updated. What do you think?
It seems there an issue with your Ledger Live synchronisation. Could you please clear the cache and then try again. Go to settings > Help > Clear Cache.

Hey, if you wanted to restore using your initial 24 words, but accidentally set up as a new and generated a second 24 words. Then simply reset the device as it's holding the second 24 words which you don't have funds in (supposedly), and then you reset the device by entering a wrong PIN 3 times. Then you go through the set-up process again, but choose the option "Restore from your recovery phrase" and you follow the steps mentioned in this helpful article: support.ledger.com/hc/articles/4404382560913-Restore-from-recovery-phrase?support=true This will restore your initial 24 words funds on your new device!
