There was no notice giving when you are/were laid off from a job & blindsided by it. Now forced into becoming semi-retired with SSI/Medicare benefits. I am STILL looking for employment. Need an income.

It's also a way of showing respect and professionalism. After all, you’ve probably spent years there, and giving them a heads-up helps them manage things smoothly. So, it’s really about helping them make a smooth transition without any major hiccups.
