Hey Taimoor, I followed your tutorial and it was amazing great job and keep up with the work. For some reason, it did not allow me to log in which was a logical error. I had to amend the code this section of the code to this if (passwordFromDB!=(userEnteredPassword)). Apart from this minor issue, the program works perfectly. Great Job!

Great video. I think it's important to mention hashing the password with a secure hashing algorithm such as as argon2, scrypt, bcrypt (not md5). It's essential to hash passwords with a secure hashing algorithm.

wa aleikoum salam GREAT video Teimoor , just here "reference.child(phone).setValue(userHelperClass);" when you define the USER ID as the phone number then in isUser() method you set the ID as Username " String passwordfromDB = dataSnapshot.child(userEnteredUsername).child("password").getValue(String.class);" I followed your videos from beggining and this error took me a whole morning to notice it

If your GO button is not working OR getting Null pointer exception...then, For GO button => Please go to the button's XML and write this line to call the buttonCode in Java make sure you call the right function for right button! android:onClick="registerUser" For null Pointer Exeption Please make sure that the names you are using to call the database values are exactly same as in the database because that is the reason it's getting nothing

Hi. 4:37 if I write getEditText(), Android Studio said getEditableText(). also if I write either above one, getText() turns red which means error. same as if I write getText()、getEditText() turns red.

Make sure that u register users with email instead of username as the root node and store all the user data underneath email node then the fetch method will work

Upgrade you gradle plugins guys, that should help you. If that doesn't work use your logcat and paste the error online. Everything should work

this helped me If your app crashes after clicking GO make sure that in your SignUp.java file you have changes reference.child(phoneNo).setValue(helperClass); to reference.child(username).setValue(helperClass);

I found out that in my case, it was because I hadn't added the following lines in the onCreate method. username = findViewById(R.id.username); password = findViewById(R.id.password);

Just don't run the query to verify. Simply call the node from where you want to fetch and map it on a model. Use it where you like 🤠

Problem is with your query! Make sure your database users Root node is username and rematch the variables with firebase names as firebase is case sensitive

Hi, it's happening because there can be a problem with the name mismatch so, make sure that the name you are using as password is same in database and also that are you calling the write DB?

Hey there I'm creating a chat app and I send msg to a child in firebase and I retrieve the msg of others through onDataChange in value event listener but the problem is when I retrieve msg I their particular activity page it works well but when I leave that page and moves to another person chat and comes back to his chat page Im receiving his last chat against due to the value event listener so I have done another way. It is I have deleted the msg from firebase once I have read it from firebase and put an if condition at onDataChange stating if the firebase value is not empty then perform the task inside onDataChange else not . now it works well but when I go back for twice or thrice and comes back the new msg from him is displaying twice or thrice accordingly to me pls help me.

try this If your app crashes after clicking GO make sure that in your SignUp.java file you have changes reference.child(phoneNo).setValue(helperClass); to reference.child(username).setValue(helperClass);
