How to Reverse Sear a Ribeye Steak Caveman Style

In this video i'm going to show you how to reverse sear a ribeye steak caveman style!
In this video i'll cover off the below:
- Steak preparation

Here's the chimichurri recipe for your reference:
- 1/4 cup chopped parsley
- 5 cloves minced garlic
- 1/2 red chilli finely chopped
- Juice of 1/2 a lemon
- Pinch of salt, pepper and chilli flakes
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1tbs red wine vinegar
I absolutely love the caveman sear! It gives you an incredible crust and flavour. Just be sure to brush and excess coal off (it will come off easy)! The caveman method is suitable for all types of steak! Not just ribeye steak, i've done this with T-bone steak, sirloin, rump steak and many more!
If you don't want to do the caveman method, you can always follow along to the reverse sear method shown in this video and just sear in a pan or on a cooking grate over coals.

Insane! Taught my 15yo to reverse sear on our Weber kettle last night. Nothing as extravagant as this but he was still really impressed and might just have a new passion for BBQ. ❤

Can’t beat the caveman sear for charcoal flavour, also love asparagus wrapped in prosciutto or smoked salmon, lightly char the asparagus first then wrap in salmon

Great vid as always, on a side note, may i ask you the best way to store your Honey soy slammer rub please, i went to use it tonight and found it all stuck together into a clump and i had to break it up with a blender to separate it, i keep all my rubs in the pantry, admittedly, we have had a lot of heat here in the west. In the fridge mate, also try keep the seal on between use. Any hot weather and/or humidity will cause issues, hence the label suggests to store in a cool dry place.

Having the issue of thick chunks of fat not being rendered enough when going 150C until I hit my internals. I prefer rare to medium rare, am I better off going lower in temperature, like 120C for longer?

Thinking of getting a wireless thermometer. Got the Inkbird instant read and 4 probe ones. Is that inkbird wireless one still good? Seen a couple of reviews saying it disconnects when you close the app.

Perfect way to cook a steak. I do tomahawks the same way except I dont sear straight on the charcoal. Thats an interesting method. Good stuff.

Definitely gives a great flavour. Definitely no briquettes as some contain chemicals and they go sandy when they burn out.

I’m just trialling this for a while to give people a chance to try what I release on the weekend. By releasing Friday, I’d hope they can get the ingredients that day or Saturday morning to try that weekend or even the Friday night.
