Oh I also wanted to share somewhat of a miracle to me....late winter I was cutting back my limelight hydrangea and noticed it had roots in the ground next to it ( I didn’t even know what propagate was at this time....) I pulled up a piece with these long roots and stuck it a bucket and would water now and then ...,it was in this bucket for months just looking like long white roots...dried out many times....then I decided I was going to try planting it and to my surprise it was gone! My brother threw on the weed pile and I didn’t know it but suspected it....it was down there for days...finally found out where he threw it....I planted in a pot ....just laid the roots on the side like a circle....it had a few leaves on it....you should see it now!🙌🏻🌟💫 It did not bloom but has beautiful clusters of leaves and I’m going to plant I think late September.....I never thought it would grow...they are pretty amazing plants!!

If a plant is overwatered, I just replant it in dry soil. The dry soil sucks the water away from the roots and gives it a shot at not drowning ! Then i watch it for when it does need some water. I'm a clearance plant junkie and it's fascinating how a plant will cling to life and reward you ! ❤❤❤

Hi Kelly, I’m from the west coast of Scotland where it rains a lot. I’m helping my sister who has moved in to her new home. Her garden is on a slope and the border at the back is on a slope. There is an Azalea there which is looking pretty sad, but there is one or to small flowers and a little bit of green leaf there. I’m going to take your advice and try and revive it. Hi there Kelly . I love the videos. I have just been given a dead Gerbera by my neighbour, I cut out the dead and I found a bit of life so fingers crossed . It was left out in the sun ! I live in the south west of Spain . It´s 38 degrees celcius today . Jajaja. I also have big problems with Hydrangers. Lots of love

Beautiful San Diego. This was helpful advice. I apply hydrogen peroxide/water solution to my potted plumeria plants on a regular basis if I suspect root rot, a common issue.

Thank you for this video Kelly it gave me hope for my Bobo Hydrangea that got fried by this heat and humidity… For a month since buying it its been a battle because of a fungus cercaspora so i started using Daconil.. the plant finally bloomed white and was looking great. I transplanted it from its nursery container to a 15gallon dirt bag grow container… I wanted to try to grow in it since my Tomatoes and Cuphea Ignae have done well in them. Iam near Atlantic City and had this growing on the deck and it had plenty of morning sun… now i know it was too much :( The heat just cooked the blooms to brown…sad to say the least i feel bad that it went to this. Im going to deadhead and remove whats left of the dried up shriveled leaves and blooms and make it fresh for next year.. I did relocate it under a canopy of honeysuckle out of that direct sun ;) Thanks Kelly, much respect for your knowledge. I will be tuning in for more. Question if i may? Are Little Limes more hardy to that kind of direct sun exposure or is it a good idea to keep all the paniculata limelight family in a half shaded indirect light area?

🦋 Hi from Utah 😁. I’m in zone 6 & I Love Hydrangeas. They are my favorite plant/flower. I have planted at least a dozen hydrangeas around my Bird Bath/Fountain. I love to hear the water running and beautiful hydrangeas surrounding the fountain. But I have had a really hard time keeping my hydrangeas alive. I started with 5 (Proven Winners). Added in some acidic mix of soil. Each year I am replacing 2-3 hydrangeas. I have purchased $80.00 hydrangeas from the local nursery. And I have purchased some that looked dead & they basically gave me the plant for free. The big expensive ones died. The ones that were on Clearance Sale for $10.00. At the grocery store and they are doing great. What can I do when my leaves 🍃 are getting black spots. I purchased BONIDE Fungal Control. Just added this morning. Any Advice is really appreciated!!! 🌱 😄 🌺

Hi I planted my little quick fire late in season ( like a month a go) all the leaves turned brown and no blooms but I could tell it wasn’t completely dead...I removed all dead leaves and any spent blooms....thought maybe transplant shock? We live in Delaware so our weather is similar....we water regularly....to my surprise we now have new leaves all over and even some blooms starting to come on! I did apply liquid Miracle grow about 10 days ago....must have been good for it! I had another endless summer I planted the same time and boy did it look sad and fast! Think it was getting to much sun? So I dug it up and put in large pt with only potting soil....I did the same to this as the other removing dead leaves and spent blooms and this one is coming back with lots of new leaves clustering from the bottom up...I’m thrilled ...don’t know whether to expect second set of blooms this year but I’m going to winter in pot and plant in spring.....I learn so much from you and I appreciate all tips and tricks you share! Hello from western NY Thank you for another fantastic video. It has been a very busy spring and summer. My flowers (zinnias, alliums, hydrangeas, geraniums, Lavender, etc) have been lovely due to all your great tips. Your sunflowers seeds that I planted grew beautifully! Hi Kelly, Carolina here from Missouri,, I have a similar problem with my limelight hydrangeas ,, they are dying, I checked for overwatering, but not root rot, and underwatering but nothing helped. I did notice they had a slightly mushy trunk and had a greenish paste color when I pinched it. I have lost 3 limelights like these.. and these are new ones that I tried planting just a couple of weeks ago. :(

Hey! Love your videos! I heard that aluminum sulfate turns hydrangeas blue instantly. Currently my hydrangeas have flower heads dried out. I heard if I put too much it may kill it, so people said to,add some in March, April, and May. I did use some Espoma Soil Acidifier, and it seemed to work, and a few flowers have changed to a purple.. What would you suggest on how and when to add the aluminum sulfate?

What if my hydrangea is already planted & is looking like that? I have a limelight i planted in June, that was doing good but then we were getting high 90s & 100+ degree days in July. All the leaves are dead, only 2 blooms are somewhat alive but a bit crispy too but the steams are still green. Should I dig it up & make sure the roots are needing anything? What to do?

I have a seaside serenade hydrangea when I bought it the pot was full of centipedes and has suffered all season. I planted it out in my garden but it just hasn’t taken off but the stems are all green the leaves are brittle. Can you give me some direction for this little beauty? I would have returned the plant but when I saw how many centipedes came up out of the soil frankly I didn’t want it back in my car. I need help I really don’t want to lose this plant. Thank you everyone.

I am from Florida, zone 9b and have a lime light and a endless summer hydrangea. Both plants look great and have lots of new growth but no blooms. They are virtually new plants since last fall and did bloom then but nothing since. I'm confused!! Really thought I should be seeing blooms by now. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Help, I watered my newly planted plant with my garden hose. I forgot to let the water run to get the hot water out of the hose first!!! The plant does not look good right now but has some green leaves but all the blossoms are brown.

I have a hydrangea that has leaves getting very spotty. I have tried several disease control and insect control products and nothing is working. What do you recommend? It didn’t bloom at all this year.

Question: My Annabel Hydrangea seems to be getting dull this summer. We had an extremely wet spring. I have attempted to feed thinking all the nutrients had leached with all the rain…when i say extreme rain, it was record rainfall. I have others and they are thriving, blooming and wonderful foliage. Annabel is located on the Northside of home, receives morning sun until about 10am and I water 2 -3 times a week. Any thoughts?

Hi Pam , when you say it is getting dull, do you mean the amount of blooms it is producing blooms that are not so vibrant ? It sounds like you had a ton of rain so maybe watering 2-3 times of week may have been a bit much . I'm also curious if it is getting enough sun . i find most of my Annabelles do best when they have at leas 6-8 hours of morning sun and then afternoon shade . @@KellyLehman Thank you. Leaves do not have the “healthy look” as many of my others. Seems in past years I have been able to use blooms all summer and into the fall. They are green, but look as if they need water. I am so glad you mentioned they can handle more sun. I will think on this bit of advise. So enjoy your tips!! Happy gardening.

@@pamdonohue8991 Sometimes when the plant is waterlogged and the roots have a bit of root rot , the leaves may looked weathered . Hold off on the watering unless the soil feels dry two inches below the top soil level

My avocado big plant has just been flowering and it started to dry up gradually. This is for the second time my avocado tree dies in different locations. The first one died completely and this one is also heading for. It. Please help. It is never over watered. I suspect a problem to be on the roots or under water.
