I was showing my son how I used to ride, sweet trails guys! I also know that it f*@kin' hurt hitting that tree bud...well done playing that one off! That's important to note while trail riding, usually the most dangerous thing is getting caught up in the bike or some trees lol. Practicing properly wiping out is as or more important than learning new tricks. Ask my spine surgeon lol.
second burm jump build the landing more higher to the left so you can do mad left handed whips then maybe you can make that into a new line :) Dope video like always
Hey Boys Great Vid. In Shepparton, public dirt jumps are constantly destroyed by the council. The size and number of your jumps in Bendigo are amazing and I have heard that the council allows you to build jumps. Also, with the recent bulldozing of the creek line, the council gave a reason on why the jumps had to be destroyed whereas the Greater Shepparton city council calls it a 'public liability' and environmental concern. Is there any advice that you could give us to help to get the council involved and how did you guys gain permission to build massive jumps on council land in Strath? The council is proposing to build a small pumptrack but many people are dissatisfied. Did you also have to get documentation to allow the jumps?
I think one of the boys sent some info through on Facebook but it's all about getting a designated area for the purpose of dirt jumps, it takes ages but keep hustling the council and hopefully should get somewhere
Aussie Steez Thanks for replying, it’s sad to see our jumps get dozed (I’m his brother) we go out there everyday to practise and have fun with our mates . It seems as if the council cares more about the grass than they do their citizens. If anything we are helping people be more active as people are going out there and enjoying themselves it just unbelievable, it’s all we have been able to do this whole COVID thing and then they just doze em.
@@sharpy0874 yeah bro feel your pain we had trails that we have been working on for over 2 years dozed, and others had worked on them for 20 years before us dozed too. Just keep your head up boys hopefully it'll work out
two ideas : 1. council elections are coming up. find out what each councillor thinks about the issue by interviewing them on your mobile phone. then post all the replies on your social media. come up with some good questions before the interview.' ,eg: Bendigo council supports dirt jumps ,why dose shep council destroy dirt jumps? 2: build some timber ramps and set them up in the council car park. when you get asked to move on explain you have nowhere to go as your jumps keep getting destroyed by the council. that way it becomes an issue the council needs to solve. get as many riders as you can when you go there.
My tips for when you bail: •Keep your eyes on where you are landing so you know what you are landing on. •Kick the bike as a far away from you as you possibly can so you don’t get a bar up your ass or a frame in between the legs. •Practice rolling on grass so if you come off at speed and have to bail the landing you can roll out of it rather than break your legs trying to run the speed off. •Practice intentionally jumping off and bailing on a safe jump (slow jump with a flat ish landing). Intentionally fail a few times to practice it. It works.
