Riding Hagrid's during Early Park Admission is a complete waste of time. One, you waste most, if not all your time waiting in line, when you can walk on Velocicoaster multiple times during the same period. His suggestion of getting to the park at 7 and waiting is also terribly inefficient, as if you are staying on property, you would have to skip breakfast to do this, as most resort restaurants don't open til 8. Honestly, I just set a wait time alert when I get to the park if I really want to ride Hagrid's, and if the wait time doesn't go down, getting in line at Hagrid's right before park close is the best way to do it by far. Don't fall for the early park admission tip, as that is what everyone staying on property is going to do.
@@FrappeInsider Any tips on that 👀 Heading to the parks with my family next Sat, plan was to ropedrop the HP section of IOA (not my idea) but was worried about Hagrid's working out due to early admission queues. Wouldn't mind a sunset/night ride but then my brother couldn't ride it if we had to wait until then.
@@smolmuffin If you rope drop hagrid's you should be able to ride with a 30-45 min wait. If you want a night ride your wait time will be shorter within an hour before the park closes, but you will still be waiting around 60-70
@@smolmuffinif you don’t have early morning admission rope dropping Hagrid’s isn’t worth it. We just got back from our very first Universal trip. We did stay on property and did take advantage of early morning hours. EVERYONE goes straight to Hagrid’s. We were on the first bus out of our hotel in the morning and were second in line at the gate. We got on Hagrid’s within 10 minutes of the park opening but by the time we were out of the ride the line was already 90-120 minutes depending on the day. But, we also waited in the line several times to ride this ride again. They’ve done a great job making the line interesting to wait in, and the line moves pretty well, so we actually didn’t mind the wait that much. Also, once we had just gotten into line when they announced that the ride had broken down and would be experiencing a delay. A lot of people left the line but we decided to stay. Our wait time ended up being way shorter, including waiting for the delay, because so many people had left the line. Just something to consider!
@@amandah2935 Yea that was my main worry, we didn't have early park admission and I figured rope dropping Diagon Alley would be smarter since we wouldn't have to worry about early park admission filling the queue for the ride there. (And Universal closes earlier than IOA that day) but I'll cross my fingers and hope for the best. Wanted to ride Hagrid's since it might be the roller coaster that challenges my fear... without it hopefully being too much (figured the bike seat would trick my brain into feeling in more control, ride a ebike everyday that is fairly fast for what it is but hitting 50 on this ride compared to the 30 on the bike is going to be interesting...) Might have to tell the others about the delay strategy, maybe it will cause things to work out in our favor.
We just did our first ever Universal Orlando trip. We stayed on property (Cabana Bay) and did early park admission to get on Hagrid’s. We were on the first bus out of our hotel and were second in line at the gate. We brought bagels and ate them for breakfast while waiting. We were on the ride within the first 10 minutes. By the time we were off the ride the line was already 90-120 minutes. We then rode Velocicoaster twice with 10 minute posted wait times. We could have done it again for a 10 minute wait, but after 3 coasters in under an hour I needed a coaster break! We waited in line to ride Hagrid’s again 3 more times that day. Posted wait time that we waited for were 85-115 minutes. The line wait times were either spot on or shorter than posted wait times for us. Once the wait was posted at 100 minutes and we actually only waited 50 minutes to get on! We also found that the line for Hagrid’s moves well and is full of so many interesting rooms and environments that the line felt shorter than it actually was. We had such a fun trip! I’d do Universal again.
I actually wouldn't be opposed to hagrid's having its own separate express pass similar to disney's individual lightning lane for rides like guardians and tron.
