ollie rocker Actually, they do have a military. They don't allow the use and hold of weapons by citizens, which is a good law by the way. Plus, this comment was made for fun. I know my history, kid.
ollie rocker Which changes as the world grows. The U.S. doesn't control Japan. The restrictions they put would change slightly from time to time if they want to have good relations.
HJSDGCE The U.S. is obligated by treaty to protect Japan. And yes the U.S. makes weapons for war, as it is who underwrites global trade and global security. If Japan was left to fend for itself, it would be spending a lot more on military, due to the increasingly belligerent and aggressive China.
Let's hope that there is some way to turn that off, or else you will start mowing people down unless you are capable of piloting a mech suit with a perfect poker face.
It's Wanzer actually... Not Metal gear Wanzers (derived from the German word wanderpanzer; wander for "walking", and panzer for "armor") are a type of mecha featured in the Front Mission series that are widely employed by both military and non-military organizations. As a key component of various military combined arms operations, wanzers have been shown to engage in combat alongside tanks, helicopters, fighter jets and other real world weapon platforms. As time has gone on Wanzers have become progressively more standardized with the modern platform coming in two varieties: Non-combat wanzer technologies see use among civilians, such as in civil engineering. Civilian-grade machines are known as wanderwagens, and have a WAW designation, while military wanzers have a wanderpanzer (WAP) designation
galaxymaster yeah it was like: "okay, we need pilots for these giant robots to fight aliens" "i have ready a few well-trained soldiers with a strong will" "you are fired, any other ideas?" "how about teenagers with emotional unestability?"
It may be $1.3m now, but remember, 15-megabyte hard disk drives used to cost about $3k in the 90's, 20 years from now and these should be available as cheap as cars. And hell yeah I'm gonna buy one!
Kogoro Kurata is the maker of Kurata mechs. 300 years later, Kurata family will change its name to Kurita. The head of this Kurita family is Shiro Kurita, later known to be the leader of Draconis Combine, the successor state in Inner Sphere.
I didn't knew this thing existed and I am so glad I stumbled upon it today even if that's 9 years later, the people who made this are genius like technology wise it's awesome and the video is hilarious I just love this so much !
+How To Make Sushi that's surprisingly low cost considering you're paying for a mech. Like gee, do I wanna buy a yacht or a GOD DAMN MECH? I imagine most would happily pay 10 times that for an actual mech (course there's also the cost of the garage, the wages of the team you'd need to take care of it, the fuel, the land to actually ride it without causing a stir with the locals)
+funny_yummy If Trump changed his speech from "we will build a wall" to "We will patrol the border with mech" I'd vote for him. Hell, I'd vote for Hitler if he promised a Mech army
By order of the President, this machine and it's scematics are now under the jurisdiction of the United States goverment. Futhermore, you are to assist Enclave scientist in assuming control of the administrations and operations of all your facilities at once.
***** It absolutely won't. Unlike gasoline engines, diesel engines are lubricated mostly by the diesel itself. So if you put gasoline in a diesel engine it will sieze shortly after it starts combusting the gasoline. This happened to me a few years back when my grandpa accidentally put about 20 liters of gasoline into a ~60 liter diesel tank, and a few hours later the engine started running really badly, even though we did everything we could to mix out the gasoline with diesel and two-stroke oil. Also, petroleum isn't gasoline or petrol. It's crude oil.
***** it will run just fine mate, have done it because I had to do it for a 100km trip. The van in question has just passed 1 million kilometers and had nothing short of basic servicing. The term petroleum is more correct than "gas" and recognised as meaning petrol in any English speaking country other than Trumpland which isn't even a gassious substance.. go figure you yanks.
***** I never said gas, neither am I American. But gas is just an abbreviation of gasoline - which is a perfectly correct word, just like petrol is. Saying petroleum is incorrect, because it's referring to crude oil, not the processed fuel.
gandalf the light purple well, granted the robot brings both being badass and being safe at the same time. but kuratas is just a prototype. they'll need to put alot of modifications to make it RPG proof. and the pilots need to know how to fix it plus they'll need new weapons. all that shit... since it can be operated by remote. it will be ten times safer cause a soldier can be in a Lockheed AC-130. while the fighters in the gun ship provide fire support for the mechs. they could even use the oculus to see what the robot see's. the future has alot of possibilities.
bonesmasher13 As for repairing it goes it runs off of both gasoline and diesel powered engines so as long as you have some automotive experience it shouldn't be that difficult. As for weapons goes it seems swaping out the the civilian guns for real ones would only require re-mounting and programming. The only thing I see wrong with it is that it seems too top heavy they would need to position the weight more evenly for maximum speed and stability.
Crunchy Bowman yeah, but they need to replace the wheels with hydraulic legs or better yet tank treads. so it can function in places with sand or snow. replace the metal with something lighter and tougher... the obvious material that can be use is titanium... but we already develop a new type of metal that is ten times more tougher and I think its as light as titanium. so I guess they can use something like that. also probably cover any of the weak points. but america has been rumored to have been building a power armor... so its japan's mecha bot vs america's power armor. its world war 2 all over again.
Too many glaring weaknesses in this platform for open war. Given that it has tiny wheels, it's only suitable terrain would be paved roads. Since its mobility relies on a single type of terrain, it really limits its deployability. Therefore, in its current configuration, local law enforcement, like SWAT, would be its best bet.
Yes hello I'm from Ethiopia will I be able to use this to carry sacks of rice to my starving family? Is an extra attachment for water filtration available?
The Military Application for this is awesome. The speed at which it moves and the agility it has. Damn this'd make a good Urban Combat vehicle. It's smaller than a Humvee and much more versatile so It'd be awesome for infantry support
Then before Orbital Frames will comes thoses good rusty poor LEV's then Orbital Frames... i guess we're going to be all dead already before seeing one... unless if you get cryochambered for years.
I agree with you when it comes to the price, it is ridiculously overpriced. A person could probably build one for the price of a mid class car.But I still feel that the "concept" of this is still useful. If this had better movement of arms, faster swivel, and increased speed of up to 60 miles per hour I could see this being both an efficient civilian sector vehicle and security vehicle. The main factor in terms of security would be the mobility of the platform "more advanced than this model".
I'm glad I watched this video. It was very informative. I will try not to smile too much when operating the Kuratas. Unless I am trying to harm many enemies. Thank you again for your invention. Thank you and hope your family is well. Take care.
and my brother thought I was insane for wanting to build a tank that could stop all but a 20mm or a cannon then this wonderful vid pops up in my news feed and now its back to the drawing board man I wish I still had half the drive train laying around for a tank. all well back to the drawing board and collecting parts.
***** even if he was real we're safe. (spoiler alert.) End of Arkahm City. If joker was real then that would mean Batman, one of the best superheroes is also real.
People may complain about how slow it moves or it not being able to walk, but remember, we can't Gundams over night. In that show MS were spawned from construction robots that looked like more armored versions of the Kuratas, and they had the technology of the 23rd century at their disposal. We will be able to make our own walking mechs, but it's going to take a lot of time and smart people to fully develop a walking giant robot that won't topple over after the first step. don't worry we''ll get there, but it will take a while. On the bright side at least its good to know that we won't need to reverse engineer alien tech to make giant robots.
If you see any smoke, flames, or smell something strange, please exit the vehicle as soon as possible; only do so once the Kuratas has come to a full stop, and remember: jumping off the Kuratas is ill-advised!
VincentGore good idea. i still like the upcoming ps4 exclusives. if i do get a pc i'll play dayz and minecraft and elder scrolls online. after i'm done with titanfall i'll return the xbone and use the money to get batman arkahm knight for ps4.
OMG this thing controls better than most gundams that I know of. The piloting system looks like a combination of a Gundam and a Jaeger. A foot pedal system for moving and a master arm servo system.
To our friend. It is the pride as the Japanese. I can have a pride in the world. It is the generation that I build Japan, and begins from now on. I do not want to compete against Korea and China. The history does not change, but peace is the first. We apologize heartily. There are many people liking China and Korea in this place. I hope that I make friends even a little in our generation heartily.
Nice mech. I can already see its weakness with fast moving targets though. What is even more impressive is the beautiful Japanese lady. She has a great smile too!
it would be nice for a kurata revision that pulls the control dashboard out of the way. and has the lower canopy hatch form a stepping platform or ramp so that the pilot has the clearance for a straight forward and speedy disembark without bumping into anything. even better yet if the kurata took its hands and formed 2 additional stepping stairs and simultaneously lowered the control dashboard and crouched down on its suspension as close to ground as possible for the pilot as an automated disembark procedure. this would also make re-embark very quick.
