Rev match when down shifting to smooth it out, and u can also drag rear brake while down shifting to smooth out any jerks too. If ur not comfortable rev matching you can drop a gear without a blip but let off clutch gradually for the bike to match the rpms on its own
I’d say as long as ur pretty comfortable riding solo and leaning the bike, if you really wanna prepare urself maybe try wearing a heavy backpack as a way to simulate what extra weight would feel like as it sway around in the rear
