Thank you for the tutorial! Really clear and direct to point! I think this could be improved if you showed the key shortcuts you are using, I think it could improve the quality of people following along with the video.
I use custom shortcuts which are a mix of Industry Standard and Blender. Because I learned Maya in Uni before switching to Blender. So it's a bit difficult to explain the default shortcuts. I've tried to compensate by making sure to use the menus as much as possible.
For people who have issues with the weight paint. Go back to "adding bones" 4:08 I just had the same problem, BUT, He selected the first bone, and THEN he went to Edit mode.. (he says it wrong in the video) In Edit mode he duplicates the bone, NOT in Object mode. ALL bones are WITHIN the first bone. now it works exactly like his.
Please don't spam every comment. I do say "in edit mode and duplicate the bone". If you duplicate the bone in object mode your going to create a second armature If you have a bunch of armatures then your object modifiers are not going to work as it's set to use just one.
@@ArmouredAvian Not spamming every comment mate, just the 2 who had the same issue in case they want to revisit. You say, go to edit mode, now select the bone....... and duplicate it. When you have to select the bone, then go to edit mode. I've rewatched it like 20 times and because I'm dumb I missed that. So I'm just helping out your viewers mate. one dude said "I had problem when I use weight paint with Trigger it working But for Other Not Working it not parent to bone when I Weight Paint It" This is EXACTLY what happened to me. which happens when you create multiple armatures, then you can paint those all you want, but they wont pose. Just like me, people are dumb sometimes, and mess something up, because they see one thing, while hearing the other. Your videos are awesome, but if you get more viewers and more comments, get ready for "comment hell" If you think this was spamming...
The issues those people were having were completely different to your issue. One person was using an older blender version so the weight paint fill shortcut was not working. Another forgot to add the armature modifier to the trigger. I had already solved their issues because they liked my comment, confirming it was fixed. Your issue is that you seem to be rushing the tutorial and jumping to conclusions. You need to slow down and think before you act.
Could be your Blender version, they changed and added some new keybind functions for Weight Painting in 4.0 Use the Gradient Tool set to value of 1 and give the object couple broad swipes instead, to fill it. Ctrl-X is listed in 4.1's manual for filling an object. For Menu access go to "Weight" -> "Set Weight" docs.blender.org/manual/en/latest/sculpt_paint/weight_paint/editing.html#set-weight
