I rig up a classic BMCC 2.5k that can easily switch from shoulder to tripod. Nice and compact so I can keep my arms close to my body when shoulder mounting. I zip tied a LANC rec start stop button to one of the hand grips and another to the top of the rig near the top handle. That way I can easily start recording no matter the configuration. Works a treat. Great with the Hollyland Mars 300 Pro wireless video system to send an image to a wireless directors monitor. I don't have a viewfinder though, I've yet to find an affordable, high quality EVF that works well with the BMCC. Thanks Shane for your knowledge and skill sharing!

It's cool, Shane's a big dude, lots of experience etc but jeez - that flip and catch at 4.39 sent my heart racing and I'm not even an AC.

I recently learned how INSANELY expensive this stuff is. I haven’t looked yet, but I bet something as mundane as that shoulder pad is almost a grand or some crazy shit.

Sometimes you need both 15mm & 19mm rods; eg, C-Motion requires 15mm, but a cinezoom lens would require 19mm for support. I use 15/19mm adapter for the smaller accessories, as needed.

I love how the soundtrack builds slowly of this. Can you tell me what song it is? Also I use 15mm rods. I shoot handheld as well on a shoulder rig. Gonna start talking about it on my channel. Im loving the 19mm rods too learning from this video. Thank you for taking the time to do this. I learned so much. Im typing this as I watch by the way and Im really feeling the soundtrack to this. So yea holler back at me on that.

RED handheld and RED on ReadyRig Gimbal; I'm guessing RED Epic-W with older 5" monitor, but could be Epic Dragon. See for yourself: 5:15

Can a cameraman really have 12kg on their shoulder all day? Realistically how many minutes before you want to put it down?
@adamgrayson1918
@adamgrayson1918 4 года назад
(replying to a year old comment) When I was using the Ursa Mini I had, rigged up it was about 23 pounds (10 ish KG), balanced properly you can honestly go for a good while, unbalanced, it's pretty much a game of how strong you are.
