Man, I started dumping my own games with an disc image copier for the older generations not too long ago. Now I'm trying to do this and on the first watch my brain was frying a little, then I realize it was just "install game on USB, Copy game from USB to PC". Also, you and UrCasualGamer really make this stuff easy to figure out, thanks for the good work!
and here i was trying to just get xenia to play it from the disk drive of my PC well at least it cleared a lot up and you have excellent tutorial and guiding skills
Merging the two discs of Watchdogs into a single GOD package seemed more elegant than installing and exporting game files to an USB. An external media needed to be inserted for playing is very similar to the original case most of us are trying to avoid in the first place - using discs.
Watched this tut a few times and can't figure it out. How do I go about merging discs? Ideally I would want to merge the content, make it an ISO in order to have it detected in Playnite and launched with Xenia
Awesome video man. I’ll be purchasing a RGH2 360 soon. I want to ensure there will be a way I can extract the game files from my legit, already purchased digital game (NCAA Football 14). I want to use the QuickBMS app to mod the “.ast” files within the game. Would I just need to convert the GoD file to ISO and that would give me access to the “.ast” files I am looking for?
NOTE: Make sure your 360 has the latest system updates! Mine wasn't connected to the internet for years, and I didn't have the option to install games to a standard FAT32 formatted USB drive. The console made me format the drive as Xbox 360 Memory first, but the files look totally different on PC than what this video shows. If you don't see the option to "format" like in 1:46 of this video, try connecting your console to the internet and updating the system.
I have a bit of an issue, I have all my iso files, but when I try to convert them to .xex's XBOX360 Iso Extract says "Xbox 360.iso Files will be skipped, is already in: C:\Users..." and it does not convert them to .xex files. Is there anything that I am doing wrong? I also have attempted to run the iso files straight to xeina but I haven't had any luck with that either.
Already have hidden files and hidden extensions enabled on my computer. I followed instructions and for some reason I don't have a content folder. Instead I have a folder called "Xbox360". Within that folder is a bunch of files named Data0000 and so forth. Am I missing something? EDIT: Had to use Horizon to find and extract what I needed.
Hey bro I'm having the same problem. You said you fixed it using horizon? What is this exactly and how did you manage to fix it and get the files you needed? I'd be down to get in a call so that it's easier for you to help me out of that's ok with U. If not just tell me where to go to get more info on this. Thanks man have a good day
Great tutorial!!! This is by far the easiest tutorial, that I have found at least, to follow! Can’t wait to get some of these games running on my BEAST PC!!!
Is the Save Data on a 360 console in a usable format for Xenia by default or does it have to be converted somehow? Where would you move the files to if so.
I enjoyed your tutorial, but I'ved backed up my original xbox games using the installation method, but after I convert the contents to iso format via "GODtoISO" I get a small iso file and if I use abgx360 to verify file, I get Errors, namely "Warning: This ISO is short 2623180800 bytes! Part of the game data is missing! (should have been exactly 7307001856 bytes)"......... My xbox drive is flashed with LT3 and I am able to play games that were downloaded and burnt onto dvd. I've been trying to use my xbox drive connected to my pc, to backup my original discs via the app "Xbox Backup Creator", but Windows 7 does not pickup the dvd drive. Would appreciate any assistance.
@Aphelion Gaming Two part question: 1. Do RGH menus work on xenia. If so, please tell me how 2. Is Xbox Neighborhood compatible with Xenia. Any extra tips on my specific topic. I'd appreciate ant help
What if i do not have the xbox360 console ? Can i extract an ISO file directly from XBOX360 game disc through computer's DVD drive to computer's hard disk ?
Yes, but I suggest running in portable mode if that's the case - otherwise your content directory (and the new shaders directory) will still go into your documents on your C drive. A recent update also fixed the "content root" setting in the config file, so you can also use this to set a directory for your content and shaders to be dumped into.
is their a way to do it without an xbox 360, as the power cord i have broke and i want to play the games again, though, my pc doesnt read the disks as a video saying its for the 360, instead it has 3 folders, $SystemUpdate, Audio_TS, and Video_TS
There is, but it'd likely be cheaper and easier to get a new power cable or console. Only a few obscure DVD drives will work and I believe you'd still need to flash the drive's firmware to do it. You can find more info here: github.com/xenia-project/xenia/wiki/Quickstart#redump-method-rarespecific-drives
Hey there, I installed ODST from my Xbox 360 to my flash drive and what transferred was a folder called "Xbox 360" and it was full of .dat files for the game, no .god file or anything like you had, any feedback? Thank you!!!
@@BretGibson477 im having the same problem. i downloaded 2 games to the usb and even when showing hidden content all ive got is a folder called xbox360 and inside is just a bunch of data files 0 - 5. xenia doesnt run any of them
nyallright our usb's just arent big enough chief i think its just like... putting what it can on there which is not very much. not enough for anything to actually RUN it. thats what happened with me at least.
So my Fight Night Champion backup DVD R DL, doesnt work properly everytime the fight starts, i get a game error: unreadable disc... and get quitted out. So then i tried installing the DVD R DL backup to xbox HDD, but i get unable to read disk once installation gets to 48% any help? i have a flashed xbox 360 E (2013)
I found out the problem, the ABGX360.ini (database) file needs to be downloaded from their site, alongside their ABGX360 app, and isntall as per the website tells you at abgx360.cc
Hi, i found this video and it really helps me outm but i wanted to play my blue dragon on my PC. I installed all the 3 discs on my xbox 360 Harddrive, how you mentioned in the video, but i cant copy it on my usb flash drive. Do you have an idea why? If i want to copy my whole Xbox Harddrive, it's not mentioned in the folder. If i installed the 3 DVD directly on the falsh drive, i have 3 Folder nad 3 44 kilobyte datas
The game I am trying to get to ISO has 2 discs. Both folders have XEX files..Outside the folders. I also see inside the folders Content and Master. The Master one has a DAT file. In the content folder is one with all the zeros. And you click again it brings up another folder with the 2 at the end..Do I convert the XEX file to ISO? Or try the content folder?
My files are Xbox Live Arcade games and they are not in GoD or any known type of format. I checked properties and they are simply just known as file, that's it. How do I convert them into readable format?
Can anyone help me? I am converting iso to god and then transferong it to usb through horizon but when the transfer is complete, the game is there but it shows not content? What should I do, weirdly when I convert bully for xbox 360 it is 7.9gb but after conversion it is 2.9gb???
I have a game that I'm trying to install to my unmodded console/internal HDD, but it quits halfway because the disc is too scratched up. I got the ISO from Vimm's. Is there any way I can convert it to the proper format (\Content\00000*\) to run on my internal drive?
hey, so what is up with the 44kb file? I have multiple games installed onto my usb, one of them does have a 44kb file (it came from a disc that I own) but all of my other games that are digital (That I fully own and bought on the Microsoft store) don't have the 44kb file. What is up with that? (I assume it is probably my usb stick that I am using, but I'll leave this here until I can try that out)
This is a real shame that I need my actual 360 running. The reason I want to turn my games into isos is to play them on PC because my 360 is practically dead (keep overheating after 2 seconds).
Can you tell me how to play DVD games on the Xbox 360 I tried playing Wolfenstein the new order but it keeps giving me 4 versions and it keeps saying that I I don't have the downloadable content and something about the DVD.
is there a way to do this without using the console? mine has a bad disk drive i wanna play my old games on pc now that i can run them better than the 360 ever could, ,i don't wanna fix it just to rip my games
hello. I could not get portal 2 working on Xenia - i tried the god file, it didn't work, I tried converting it into an ISO, it still didn't work. Whenever it tries to play the game and just crashes and closes Xenia. What can I do to fix this?
Had an issue, for some reason my game crashed after getting past the start screen but on the loading screen. Is there a fix? I just ran the 44kb file straight to Xenia
It is, but it's probably cheaper and easier to grab a 4th xbox to do the job. Dumping with a PC requires one of a few obscure drives, and I believe you have to flash the firmware. There's more info on the quickstart page. github.com/xenia-project/xenia/wiki/Quickstart#redump-method-rarespecific-drives
once you install the game on the usb on xbox, when you plug in in the pc it wants you to format it again... destroying the data, so my question is how did you get around that
Please someone help, I seem to each 2:50, but instead of turning into the files in the video, it displays a single folder with "Data0001" all the way to "Data0030"
I downloaded god2iso but it isn't working it keeps saying look for another app and stuff, what do I need to do to fix this edit: fixed it by using winrar
I just checked the link - it seems to work fine. Have you extracted it, or is that where you're getting stuck? If so, use a program like 7zip or winrar to extract the .rar file first.
Can someone please help me. I have no idea how any of this stuff works. I wanted to played skylanders giants, but I'm not sure how. I don't own and xbox360, but I have skylanders giants for the xbox 360. Do I need the console? I have xenia downloaded. I really wanted to play this game, but I can't if I don't know how.
Hey maybe im just dumb and didn't hear you but is there anything specific i need to do to get DLC to run? Ex. i have all the DLC for Fallout 3 and i want to know how to get it to run the DLC or if i need to do an extra step
This video briefly glosses over how to rip a disc containing DLC. Check out my full DLC tutorial here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-PqkMu0pKQyg.html
If you can see the files on your USB drive, but they are all 0kb in size, then it sounds like there was a problem copying the data onto that USB drive. You may be able to solve it by using a different USB drive - I've never experienced this issue with an Xbox 360, but other consoles like the PS3 can be picky about the drive and port you use.
I had a game that wouldnt work, and the trick for fixing it was to unpack the iso, since its 2 games in one disc I couldnt do that from the normal xbox rip.. but you just helped me make that iso. Thanks.
no I don't think that will work Microsoft REALLY stopped any way for your PC to read anything off a hard drive that has Xbox one games. they didn't want hackers using cheats back then on their console (2013) before crossplay. EDIT: also the xbox one is unhackable
In which game? That's a generic crash that usually doesn't have a solution yet. You can check the Xenia compatibility list in the description to see if your game is playable.
So can anyone help a fellow noob. I'd like to rip the models from POTC At worlds end xbox360. With all these steps completed how do I rip them? is it just a matter of booting up the game on pc? How do I do that once I have the ISO files? Honestly a real noob over here any help would be very much appreciated :)
You can rip games using a normal console, but you will need a modded console to play them without the discs. Or you can use the xbox 360 emulator Xenia to play the games on PC, if they are compatible with it.
