One thing to add is it is really easy to slip out at the bottom as you have much more speed than you are used to. Really good tutorial 💪💪

Fantastic video! I don't think have ever seen or heard the great tip about not facing forward and keeping shoulders straight so you can turn your head and watch coming back in.

I love your thps special bar gimmick :-) and I´ve seen multiple rock to fakie videos, but from you I finally learned my mistake! open shoulders are my cryptonite on this trick! I was always going back blind, which of course was even more scary, than it has to be. thanks dude! gonna sub now!

Wow thanks man no one has ever said not to keep your shoulders parallel with the board on your way down I always catch my self parallel to the copping for some reason. If I knock this trick out its gonna be because of you

I’ve been struggling with the rock to fakie for some time now... you explained everything so well as before I was doing exactly at 7:08 where my body was facing the ramp which prevented me from going back. Hopefully after this tutorial I will be more comfortable and overcome my fears

Great tutorial. I thought I had this trick down but slammed really hard a few times hanging up and have been reluctant to try it again. The big tip for me is keeping my shoulders in line with the board as I was going back in blind, which just sets you up for a hard fall...

Never seen this channel but this is an unexpectedly great tutorial, well done! I found the slo-mo, the step by step description and the visuald (arrows etc.) really really helpful. Just a question: some ramps do NOT have any copings, would you suggest trying them first or I should try rock to fakie with one with a coping?
@SBAcademysk8
@SBAcademysk8 Год назад
Really appreciate it Arty, thank you. That’s true, you get some transitions which have no coping but the technique will be the same :)

What's the dynamics between the back leg/foot and front leg/foot when "rocking forward" and "rocking backward"? When you're rocking forward to place your front wheels on the deck, do you press down the front foot and simultaneously lift the back foot? When rocking forward, do you press down the back foot and simultaneously lift the front foot?
@SBAcademysk8
@SBAcademysk8 2 года назад
Good question The rock doesn’t have to have the wheels touch but you want to feel the board seesaw on the coping. You should be leaning back a little as you want to come back into the ramp straight after the rock. Whilst you are leaning back going into the rock you should gently push your front foot down to create that seesaw motion. The seesaw motion will automatically cause your back foot to lift as you gently press your front foot forwards. If you have a clip of your rock fakie technique, feel free to DM me on IG @sb.academy so I can give you advice on what you are currently doing.

Been scared of this too. Not sure how bent the knees have to be. Or maybe they just go with the transition?
@SBAcademysk8
@SBAcademysk8 3 года назад
You will want them slightly bent to start. Notice in this, I don’t have them bent too much as I’m going into the trick or when rocking the board but they bend on the way back into the ramp to absorb the the momentum of coming back in. If you are still worried about the trick, you can have someone stand next to you in the ramp and they can hold you hands as you rock and come back in. This can help you get more confidence before going for it solo.

Hey I can do most it’s when I put the board down on the deck I just jump off no even meaning to I have broke my arm on this trick before so I’m trying to learn it just dunno how to not jump off when I rest the board down over coping

Same here dude I got everything down except when I come back in I hop off I’m not scared to crash or anything I’ve crashed many times on this trick but I come back and always end up jumping off
@damianb2374
@damianb2374 2 года назад
@@copperheadfpv9020 have you tried it on really small ramp with coping, like a 1-2 foot one? Try do it like LOADS on that to build up the rhythm. Thing is with skating it just takes as long as it takes to get the trick, there is no rush at all and everyone is different. Wear all pads/wrist braces too as they give a big layer of confidence
