Great video , I've a slab I have to take a hammer to and on one side of the slab there seem to be a thick brown matrix on top do you think I should chip it off before tumbling to save time ?

Loveing your video, could you answer me, I've bought blue slabs from a vender, on top of the slabs is a thick brown matrix type on top. would it be advisable to chip it off before tumbling?
