skyrim modding is getting to the point where independent modders are no longer updating their mods. I wish Todd would leave skyrim alone now and go deal with his other broken games

Sometimes I cant catch the update cause even disabling auto update makes skyrim update maybe twice a year. Just saying kudos been coming back to your videos for this for about almost 3 years.

There are moments when you HAVE to update it then roll it back. That was the case with 640 getting hit by the 1170. There was no play button only a blue update button so I was forced to update, then had to get the previous versions.

i am very thankful for this as i use it a good bit. the only problem is that some of the creation club, namely necromantic grimoire, doesnt work with the rollback despite me installing it quite clearly multiple times and then rerolling back. a few others arent working too. thankfully, most of them seem to be working though. just wish that the other ones would work too.

If u make a Backup of ur downgraded Version or rename it, like 'Skyrim Aniversary Edition' instead of 'Skyrim Special Edition', u can choose the Skyrim AE named Folder as ur Working Folder for ur ModManager (in my Case the MO2) for a created Custom Profile.

You just saved a 100 hour and 220 hour saves. Thank you!!!!!

Update: I did download the items in three folders only and it worked! Than you again Thank you for this video I actually followed these steps and it worked. When I was I going to play it the game yesterday the vortex player launcher stated that it got updated and I couldnt launch from vortex skse. I checked my my Skyrim folder and saw that I have skse64_1_6_640 engine. Would i have to just repeat this process again in copying and pasting all the items in the three folders?Thanks

Hah. Of course they'd update the game again just to break and screw over the average user. This fix allows me to launch it, and it likely WILL help many people. But unfortunately for me, my mods are basically glitched now, as a lot of the old files were "adjusted" and, well, ruined now. Three weeks ago or so, I was modding around with about 50 mods with several overhauls, I got it working after about 8 hours of tweaking and adjusting (mostly user error of initial installiation). Then I actually put in a good 40-50 hours of gameplay. Character leveled to 60-ish, many quests done both vanilla and modded. It will launch! But... It will (likely) break your saves! Try to back up your saves! I would advise reinstalling ALL mods if you have any after doing this video guide.

Tried this process exactly as described in the video step by step, at least 6 times, and still doesn't work. Been playing this game since the month it was released, been modding steadily on PC since 2016, so I KNOW what I'm doing, so no lectures here, please. Brand new gaming computer, maxed out components, so that's NOT the problem either. Life is just too short to putz around THIS much to get a video game to do what it was doing all along in the past with very few issues. Bang up job there, Bethesda. *sigh

Brilliant video however I am running into 1 small issue. When downloading the 3 files on steam, I am getting "Depot download failed : error writing chunk for X:" Is there any obvious reason this is happening or fix?

thanks to your video i got my skyrim back to the 1.6.640 but my modlist relies on the best of both worlds patcher working correctly which when i tried to redo it with the correct version of best of both worlds it no longer looks like its doing what its suppose to. when i try to load my game it says alot of my mods are no longer active despite being so on vortex any ideas what im doing wrong?

Hi, after doing this I just get teleported to desktop right after the bethesda logo, even with all mods disabled, any idea why?

So it defiantly should take hours to download all three depot. I was able to download 1 but not the other two. I have 5291801952219815735 downloaded but I can't get it to download the other two

But what about my CONSOLE? I can't do the vid on my Xbox One console. I don't mind losing the games or having to reinstall the mods.... BUT THERE IS NO MOD OPTION ANYMORE. Now what do I do...?
