Thank, Wes. Yeah, I think so to. Was gonna burn it today but couldn't bare to destroy it yet, so smoked something else from a different video I'm working on.
Would really appreciate it if you could do a video on blend recipes. Tell us what leaves we should keep in stock so we can roll a good blend, help us get into it a little bit.
I understand, but I don't have sufficient knowledge to help with this. I am not a blender, just a roller. I use a few leaves I get in a box every year from my connection in Central America and I don't create recipes. I just grab leaf and roll, and I try never to repeat myself, which is easy because even with just a few leaves the variations are endless. That's why cigar companies have 6 guys sitting around smoking a 100 blends to narrow it down to just one in the end.
I also am looking for a good blend recipe. It seems as though everybody’s is top secret to make a mild stick. I use one Dominican Seco 2 dom viso And one half Lehero Connecticut shade rap for a binder Connecticut. Any thoughts?
I then placed a bunch in my RYO machine which I really love. It gives me about a 52 ring. I tried rolling book method. I could not get a good draw so it went back to my good old-fashioned Cuban style. I built a Lazy Susan for my roller table, which gives me access easily as I’m 83 years old always enjoy your videos.
I've considered it, and been asked often. But how interesting is it to watch a cigar sitting in a box, pressed between other cigars, for some weeks? I haven't figured out how to make that entertaining yet.
4:30 pm Always useful to have a wry sense of humor...re box pressing, I have had good success with an LFD Double Press box. It has wooden dividers and with the addition of shims you can make almost any size including box pressed Coronas or lanceros similar to Southern Draw Lustrum. Keep up the excellent work, my friend. You are an inspiration to us all 4:30 pm Aug 2
Would love to try that, no connection in tobacco land any more. I might have to grow some. Sorry for the novice question (old guy, novice at cigar rolling), but what's the "glue". I didn't need to see this. I do like making things.
It's not a terrible hobby. And there's plenty leaf available at retail. wholeleaftobacco.com, leafonly.com. The glue is a cellulose gum called Bermocoll.
