I keep used dryer sheets, to place in the bottom of my pots, to prevent the soil from coming out. Then I usually put an inch or so of pebbles on top of the dryer sheet for extra drainage. Save your used dryer sheets in an empty square tissue box (keep on top of the dryer) and always have a supply to use when potting up your plants! Thanks for the interesting videos and love your budgie! kristi

I wonder if this also helps with pests as well? I've heard of people carrying dryer sheets in their pockets because bugs supposedly don't care for the smell.

You're such a good teacher!! I just love your channel. My favorite to watch for sure, but what Ive learned from you is PRICELESS!!! You've helped me be less fearful of succulents and to really pay attention to each individual plant. When I finally figured out that the leaves will tell me when they want water... GAME CHANGER!!! I STOPPED KILLING THEM. I really killed alot too bc the are almost the opposite to houseplants and gardening. I'll never forget my first succulent was a Titanopsis and I pulled it out of the pot and pulled around at the roots bc it looked root bound then I drenched it with water and left it out in scorching sun and rain. Needless to say root rot in no time. I didnt realize I was tearing the roots and I needed to let them heal before I watered it. Once again, I am so thankful to have stumpled across whats now my most favorite personality on You Tube!! Your time and efforts to teach others is so appreciated and if you don't hear it enough, hear it from me, THANK YOU!!

I beheaded and echeveria polux Awhile back also pulled some very healthy leaves and soil rooted them they ALL have babies some very big and hearty some have 3 or 4 babies in a cluster and I'm sort of nervous to pot them. They all have beautiful roots as well. What do you suggest ? How do I know if the babies are ready to be separated from the mother leaf and potted on their own? Thank you in advance for your help!
@GrowingSucculentswithLizK
@GrowingSucculentswithLizK Год назад
Pollux is a very strong plant. Not much issue with them (not a diva plant in my books). It's entirely up to you. They can be separated or planted as a cluster or wait till they're big enough to be separated. When separating with the ones ending up with no roots, just lay them on top of a dry surface soil. Just make sure the soil in the bottom is moist to encourage root growth. Rooted ones can be watered as normal.

I'm in Australia and I use a couple of different seaweed base brands. Different countries will have different brands. The product itself is called SOIL WETTER. Soil wetters, both liquid and granular; work by improving the absorption of water, reducing the surface tension of water and helping it to absorb moisture to root level. Cheers

I wanted to ask you, do you add the algae to the water? How often do you drink the scallops with the addition of algae? Thank you for the videos and the instructive explanation
@GrowingSucculentswithLizK
@GrowingSucculentswithLizK 3 года назад
After cutting, keep in a dry place or even on top of pots with lots of rocks so the plant doesn't touch the soil, but can reach for water to encourage faster root growth. No water until the roots come out. I only use the seaweed water/soil wetter when the soil is dry for a long time.

Got some of these and thought it's easy growing them, well, it's not all of them rotted, except 3 of them... I don't have a green thumb like yours, so I'll just keep watching you and all your beautiful succulents growing ❤️🍃😁

Tu método es muy efectivo, gracias por tomarte el tiempo para grabar el tutorial. De hecho, en nuestra granja, también usamos este método a menudo para asegurarnos de que las suculentas estén bien regadas

Hi 👋 I’m totally new to succulents but have done my research more so after me getting my babies. I got an Ebony ech. & used glass pieces to surround her and she’s going really well now. I’ve had my new plants for like 2-3 months now. Thank you for all the knowledge ✨🌵
