In this video, I'll be walking you through every single step in the process of rooting your Pixel 4a.
With an unlockable bootloader and a price tag that keeps the risk-reward ratio low, the Pixel 4a is the new king of rootable phones.
You'll have to enable Developer Options, allow OEM unlocking, unlock the bootloader, then patch the stock boot image and flash it in fastboot - but it's not as bad as it sounds if you have somebody walking you through each step.

you haven't explained a really important part here - how to disable dm-verity, which prevents you from flashing any custom boot imgs. People are confused. I am confused. And people, your phones ain't bricked, just get the stock boot img and flash it, everything will be fine.

Bootloader unlocked. But the phone bricks upon flashing magisk_patched.img. i have tried multiple time. Please help

works great, no brick, the Pixel is rooted. thanks. But how removed the message " the bootloader is unlocked " each time I restart my phone ?

Not possible, you need to rewrite in motherboard or smth to do that.. even in Xiaomi or any android phone , this is will stay until you look it again..

This method will brick your phone, as the Magisk Manager does not properly patch the boot.img. Do not use.

Magisk Canary works really great it even patches verify boot inside the boot image, allowing you to boot the custom boot.img without boot-loop issues.

@@Absarock1 I pressed off button and volume up button (the buttons vary from different phones ) I then plugged it into the computer. And used Google's tool and clicked reset . I was not able to wipe the phone without a computer.

In zip file there will be another zip filed name image- ( your device code name ) "... And inside it there will be boot . Img

Phone is Dead , it can be soft brick or hard brick , Soft brick means phone won't boot up but can show fastboot mode , hard brick means nothing is happening @@Javvos

I'm waiting until Android 11 is released to the public to Root my Pixel 4a it's just best to wait because once you Root it using this method you'd have to do a lot of things just to get back to stock Android because with this method it patches your Boot Image so basically you can't just Unroot and go back to Stock Android you'd have to run a whole bunch of command's on your computer and all that just to be able to get back to stock Android and be able to update your phone again it's really a pain and I wish someone would make a easier way unfortunately TWRP still hasn't found a way around this in Android 10 or Android 11 I'm hoping one day there will be a easier method to Root Pixel Phone's without patching the Boot Image.
