This video clip shows you how to level the pond bubble of a theodolite whilst centring over a point. It is of benefit to those using standard digital theodolites and total stations when surveying.

k adjusting the legs after you centered it will screw u over u will be so off from the point that u will have to re adjust 2 of the legs again

Umm, no. Once rough leveled, you loosen the tribrack, slide the instrument back over, reverify rough level, then fine level, verify that you are still ovet, then take your backsight.

NO NO NO! Do not "dance" with the tripod with the instrument attached!! To adjust the optical plummet onto the nail, use the tribrach footscrews! Then adjust the legs to centre the bulls-eye bubble. (It is only necessary to move 2 of the legs) Then centre the bulls-eye bubble accurately using the footscrews. Finally, move the tribrach on the head. Relevel if necessary. Cowboys...
