I run my baking business from home and had to do everything that Georgia mentioned. You also have to complete the level 2 food hygiene training. It works well, no overheads to worry about..
I am just starting to make my own cake business. My grandma had one, and she said that your videos are very helpful to learn more! I definitely agree with her! you are amazing at explaining things!
I'm so happy for you guy's, that there is possibilities to run a cake business at home. The Rules in Germany is "If you are not a Baker Master" you don't have the right to sell Baking product.
I’m wondering is that true when you doing your baking bisness from home then you have to separate all tools in the kitchen? For example you can not use same mixer or spoons for personal use?
I'm trying to get organized in a one bedroom apartment with a tiny kitchen. I came across some Fat Daddio's cake pans at a fantastic price, but the pans are all 3 inches tall, instead of 2 inches tall. Will this make any difference if I am only baking enough batter for a 2 inch tall cake? Thank you!
How do your clients get their cakes? I don’t know how my neighbors would feel about 5-10 different people getting their cakes every weekend, and I think it would be unprofessional if I met my clients somewhere, and I don’t think delivery is a great idea.
Good question - I never made more than 6 cakes in a weekend and the collections were pretty spread out. I usually brought the cakes out to the clients (or even to their cars) but also used a delivery service which was very reliable. Hope this helps 🙏🏼
Thx Georgia. Just and FYI that in many provinces in Canada you can get a food permit through the department of environment. The rules are very very strict but it’s possible to be successful. What is a bigger problem is local bylaws that many not allow the running of a business. This is mostly enforced if you have a lot of traffic coming to your home that may upset the neighbours. Best to feed them all first! Thanks and good luck with your next chapter. We adore you!
