Last time I ran mine, I ran a 7.1, not bad, for a catcher. Good tips. The first tip is something that can also be taught for base running and stealing a base. Weight on backside I never did think of, I will remember that for next time. Also good tip to stay low, same thing goes for catcher when throwing to second, I try to stay low when I get out of the crouch but I probably stand up a little too much. Running in a straight line is also hard to do, but I did not run in a straight line, so that killed my time a little. good last minute tips.
I've been coaching high school track for almost 20 years...if you're running an electronic 6.4 you're eligible for a full D1 ride in track and field at MANY schools. 60 yards is basically 55 meters which is what we run during indoor track here in MA. Your time would make you a state champion most years.
I'd recommend a dynamic warm up, band exercises, a good throwing progression, and your favorite hitting drills. You should do drills on the tee, soft toss/front toss, and live BP.
Hey coach can you get me an ice cream. : ) I here the ice cream truck in the back ground noise lol. I was coaching in a championship game 7u an the ice cream truck showed up .We where on defence . Other team hit the ball to the out field we lost by 1 run. lol
Hey coach my nephew is 9 and runs a 7.11sec 60 dash. That’s with a turn at third. Any tips for cutting that time down a little.? He is one of the fastest on his team but is always striving for better. He competes in hit pitch and run and wants to lower his speed
