Snoop Dogg recently ran a 200m and blew the world's mind. But how did he do it? And what can we learn from it?

About 38 seconds for me. On the track. I'm 59 and don't smoke a lot of dope. Presumably, Snoop was more relaxed out there than me.

There are a lot of running videos out there, but few have the actual experience and knowledge to really give good advice. You do a great job of that. I turn 50 in a couple weeks and have been running much more seriously over the last year. Never thought at this age I could actually become this close to my abilities in my late teens and early 20s when I actually could run 200 in 26 seconds. I know I could get under 30. Thank you for what you share. Would love more info on zone (1 to 5) training and concepts.

I just did a track session yesterday, training for a 10K, and I am still wiped out today 😂

No tracks within reasonable driving distance of me so I measured 200 meters down the road in front of my house. First attempt in 34.8. Not really satisfied with getting smoked by Snoop I rested up and tried again in about 10 minutes, making sure to stay loose and warm. 2nd attempt in 29.7

30s +- gps drift... I should incorporate more of these in my workouts. Felt like I was using muscles in ways I haven't used before.

You can't use GPS for a 200m rep... get on the track to measure distance, that's what it's for!

Yeah. I know. Didn't have an accessible track nearby. Maybe next time

I’m a 47 year old who is 2 years past his best marathon shape 3:37. I’ve been running for 12 years. I’m currently recovering from overtraining syndrome and them 30 pounds over my preferred running weight. Excuses aside I am not faster than Snoop Dogg. I did 37.6 seconds this morning at the track.

You'll be better once you get back into shape. No doubt about it!

What’s that sound? It’s like distant fire works… No it’s the sound of hamstrings and quads popping all across the land. Don’t all out sprint without a very generous warm up and scrap the session if there are any tight spots or niggles in your legs. Otherwise, have fun and go fast!

Bullshit. Not everyone is prone to injury. I regularly do 200m repeats. I try for 40 seconds, but always run faster than intended. I never stretch or warm up.
