Thank you SO MUCH!! I started learning HTML/CSS/JS some months ago and I only used CodePen for practicing. It was really a turn off to only be able to use the "free image's section" from there, especially in my case because I'm looking to master CSS. Now I can finally do projects more freely. Also this tutorial is really well-made, keep it up!

If anyone is having trouble, it looks as if the code to paste in is now this: "html": "cd $dir && start chrome $fullFileName", as a bonus, if anyone wants their HTML file to be read using Microsoft Edge, this is code to paste in: "html": "cd $dir && start msedge $fullFileName",

Hi, I follow the step but when I click run it does opening up chrome but with an error "This site can’t be reached" . Then I change the path to suggestion above " cd $dir && start chrome && $dir$fileName" All good. Many thanks

For everyone having issues with Chrome opening two tabs, please follow these instructions and it will work like a charm :). 1- Make sure your chrome is your default browser 2. Insert the following code in the json settings file: "html": "cd $dir && $dir$fileName", you don't need to use start chrome, that's what opens the extra tab 3. after you add the line, click File > save 4. close all tabs and open the file you want to test. (if you don't close the tabs, or switch tabs you will get the error "code language not supported or defined" simply because you are trying to run the settings file instead of the HTML file. That's all

Just to let you know, after you write the command, you will have to inset a comma as the very first thing on the next line which says something about javascript, otherwise, you won't be able to configure any settings

It was opening 2 opera tabs with "cd $dir && start opera $dir && $fileName". And one didn't have fileName in its directory so it wasn't opening. And I fixed this with "cd $dir && start $fileName"

@@nesib4868 yeah , instead of Running the code in VS, go to that file and open it manually because my problem is that it's not opening diretcly to the website when I run the code, so I manually opened the file

Try to write in the commad explorer instead of chrome, as I run the code I was able to choose the search engine.

Hello. I love the video. However, I am having some issues opening the file. I copied the command at :32 seconds. I added the code runner extension. I copied the code at time 1:46. I created the subscribe.html file. Everything works at at 2:39 time. However, when I go to run the code, I get a message that says, This site can't be reached. What am I doing wrong? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Change the code to "cd $dir && $dir$fileName". Then it works. If you want to open it in a new chrome window then try "cd $dir && start chrome $$ $dir$fileName". Hope it will be working for u too.
