How to S Rank Hilda Berg | Cuphead 

The biggest problem for me was getting under 2 minutes... I was being so efficient with my supers and I would always be 1-5 seconds too late...

tip for the blue arrow phase: have your super ready, let her shoot the first round and dodge them, then as shes close to shooting the next round, use the big bomb to clear everything on screen and she will pass to next phase before shooting the third round. as long as you can get through one round of this phase, you'll be good

I have a master hint for sagittarius, if hes about to shoot his arrow, just camp at the top of the screen and use the boms and make sure the bombs are hitting sagittarius but also the arrow, if he shoots the arrow, your bomb attacks will instantly destroy the blue stars so you dont have to worry about it, just make sure your focusing on the little zeppelins

You can use the bombs to destroy the stars, when they are close to eachother. Also you can bait the brown ufos to fire by quickly going forward and then backward so that the laser cant hit you. I like to do this because sometimes the brown ufos got me on the left side of the screen so i was stuck. Hope this comment helps someone!

Loved the video but here’s a tip: Use the divine relic, It gives more cards then coffee, but you also get the parry ring and whetstone, which is really good for taking out those blue star projectiles.

in the Sagittarius phase i found that bombs can destroy all the stars the second the arrow is shot making it a lot easier.

There you have it -- my favorite boss in the game. S ranking this game last year is still one of my greatest accomplishments... lol

Hilda Berg is pretty easy to beat in the regular mode, but S-ranking her is just hell. There are moments when her fight on Expert is straight of unfair, like the fire thing during the Gemini phase sometimes not even giving you a chance to dodge or when she shoots the tornado and the green blimp shoots the bullets at the very same time. It's pretty luck-based.

second tip: during the sagittarius face, aim with the bombs directly at the tip of his arrow, and the bombs probably will eliminate all the homing stars at once.

A very useful trick that helped me a lot is that you can destroy the blue stars as soon as they come out if you are using the bomb weapon because it has splash damage. If you use the bomb weapon you may kill the airplane that will give you a parryable object so what I like to do is to wait till I get that and then I implement the bomb strat.

tip: right after hilda transforms, the first purple flying thing that appears will always shoot a pink projectile

I watched the end of this video after throwing my poor wallet across my room striking my essential oil diffuser to help me beat this fu***ng blimp, JUST ON EXPERT, I WOULD RATHER DIE THAN TRY TO S RANK THIS, and i just have to say, those green blimps can burn in FU**ING BLMP HEII FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, THE AMOUNT OF TIMES THEY GAVE ME A FACIAL IN AN UNAVOIDABLE MANNER, GAVE ME HEART DISEASE. SEEING THE KNOCKOUT SCREEN WAS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL THING IVE SEEN IN WEEKS. that is all, im going to go cry myself to sleep now

On my first play through I got an B+ on normal on 2 player mode it can’t be that bad on expert (the DLC wouldn’t come out for another year or 2 as well)

Also, using whetstone can help with getting rid of the blue stars. But also coffee is nice since you get bonus damage.

Tip! The first purple blimp when she transforms to both forms is guaranteed to be parryable. Also when beating the Sagittarius there will be both purple and green blimps shooting at you at the same time. The purple will have a garenteed parry

tip: after he shoots the arrow dodge the blue stars by circling under them and then returning back to your original position. by this time the blue stars should track you and all group up relatively on one spot in front of you if you position yourself and time it right, you can use an ex and it will chomp through the stars and the ex even goes into the boss a lot. it’s even easier with the pink pellets the blimps shoot and if you have smoke bomb i’m pretty sure you can shrink through the arrow. you can do this method every time he fires his arrow obv

A tip for the arrow and blue stars phase is to stay on the top and shoot bombs on the boss so the bombs will instantly destroy all of the stars

Thanks dude. I didn’t enjoy this fight at all because I hate all airplane fights and I’ve always hated hilda berg. It just takes a lot of practice especially for the arrow and star part.

Recommendation and question: I personally found the Divine Relic to be really useful, because it seems that you just need to end with 3 HP to get the bonus for that, so you can benefit from the heart ring, in addition to coffee. (Yes, I know this came out before the DLC.) I just S-ranked this boss, (thanks for the help!) and got the rank despite a 2:06 time. Similarly, on Phantom Express, I got an S-rank with 2:02. The number didn't turn golden, so I didn't get a bonus for time, so can anyone explain why that happened?

This boss is actually pretty easy for me. Literally the only difficult part for me is keeping it under 2 minutes. Keeping the HP up is one of the easier things by far

i had an attempt where i got to the final phase with 3 hearts, but literally before the last 2 shots to kill her i got hit by a stupid star+ UFO combo cornering me, never forgetting that moment

1:35 fun fact for this attack, only the BULLETS damage you, the circle itself actually doesn't.

I spent the last hour not knowing the UFOs acted differently. I completely agree with every single thing said in this video. Except for the charm, I'd recommend the parry hp ring.

If you don't have coffee, try the smoke bomb instead. People think it doesn't do anything in airplane fights, but it grants you a few milliseconds of invincibility at the beginning of a shrink. When timed right, this lets you fly right through pellets, the bottoms of Hilda's tornadoes, the blue stars, and even straight through Gemini's bullet hail.

Personally, I find her as *the hardest aerial boss* in the game. She'll make me restart my match over 10+ times just because a green blimp came in so inconveniently.

An easy way to deal with the blue stars from Sagittarius is to use Whetstone, which can make pretty quick work of annoying minions.

on regular its pretty easy but on expert a whole different story

Really cant see why you say this level is hard guys. The ginie and kala maria are much harder than this one for sure. I can S rank hildaberg probably half the times i play her but you surely cant do that to kala maria

I found S ranking Hildaberg really hard but not even close to impossible. I was about to S Rank every single Cuphead boss, but the Mermaid forced me to give up. That **** mermaid is impossible to S Rank.

When he comes in sag mode I use my alt bomb to drop directly on his arrow so only the arrow shoots out not the stars

Ive never loved a boss so much playing regularly and despised it so much trying to S rank

bonus tip: there’s always a parry purple blimp on the first ring when playing on expert mode, and I recommend that you should only shoot the green blimps because as you saw in the video, they have an annoying spread that’s usually impossible to dodge in certain situations.

If you throw a bomb at the Sagittarius his hand, while he shooting the arrows, the stars disappear

I find the isle 4 plane boss to be the hardest, mainly due to the insane amount of stuff on screen
