I could be wrong but I feel like the trick is not to wear the lace fronts all the time because eventually you would have to be severely damaging your edges over a long period of time EVEN if you are ultra careful.
LOL ! I find the prices to be worth it cause the wigs really last a long time and you don't do any extra work but different strokes for different folks !
This was really helpful, especially the gel (which I thought was a glue) and the removal part! Thanks! I've been wanting to try a lace front but was scared of losing my edges.
Doesn't the wig cap pull out your edges? My mom lost a lot of her edges when she used to use that sort of stocking material on her head .. Now I'm terrified of wig caps
And I also have a friend whose edge hair is breaking off but I won't say anything because people get touched when you tell them something... But I think it comes with long term use
Andile R Girl yes it does after a while. That's what happened to me! My edges a pretty tragic now and I been lowkey depressed. I started using this thing called a wig grip, you can find it on Amazon for about $12. But it's made of a soft velvet like material and it basically helps your wigs stay put and it protects you edges better. I started using it not too long ago and I'm slowly but surely trying to nurture my edges back to full growth. Also please tell your friend that her edges are vanishing so she can grow them back before it's too late lmaooo. If she a real one she'll understand you just trying to help her.
thats what happened to me too. i got myself a huge bold spot on in front of my head becoz of the wig cap. now i am afraid of wearing wigs. i do not know which protective style i shld do. i am done with wigs, weaves and i am afraid of braids coz genetically i have thin hair and thin hair line.
If you use any type of glue adhesive ie; got 2B glue, ghost bond, gorilla snot, then you should leave the wig on for 5-7 days. Every night would surely rip out your edges. Also, purchase some scalp protector as well. You can try your local BS store and Amazon carries it. I'm a newbie to the glue down thing myself. Good Luck!
+GodBlessed nah it doesn’t move with heavy winds. If someone was fighting you and they pull your hair with excess force it will come off and cut your edges but if someone pulled your hair normally, it won’t.
