@@apexdetail85 hello, I saw a youtube detailer who used Meguires wheel brightener on hard water spots. I know its acidic,. Would it harm my clear coat or paint ? I have a black truck I just purchased and im having a hard time removing the spots. Thanks !
Yo, for those (2) who disliked the video, please do share your comments what you didn’t like. Any type of comments to me are constructive and benefits to us all.
Really appreciate the pricing information to go along with what you're doing, it gives some good insight for those of use who sometimes offer their services to friends or family who insist on paying for it.
Merry Christmas Brian and thank you for all the knowledge you've shared with us this year that has helped so many of us that you'll never meet! Many of us now say to ourselves, WWBD (What would Brian do), when we are faced with a detailing issue!
Not used that gel before, but I had a car covered in water spots, I'm talking most of the surface of the car. So I used a medium grit rubbing compound and followed up by a polishing compound. For water spots on windows, barkeepers friend + dish soap and a little lemon juice (acid) works well with a foam buffing pad.
Just bought my brand new luxe car BUT ITS BLACK 😅😅😅 so this is very useful. Will try to find this online. I’m uk based. I gasped. This lifted right off in your video I have to get this
The competitive pricing is highly localized by region due to competitive street pricing of other independent local paint refinish shops vying for potential customer's business; but certainly $300 for an hour's worth of paint refinishing work is about average; after one considers that both the employee and owner of paint refinish shop have to split the effective actual expense cost of doing the actual required labor as well as the owner's daily operational running cost of ones paint refinish shop; $150 employee and $150 to the owner of paint refinish shop; that is not a lot of money to be able to effectively run a paint refinish shop day to day as a profitable business entity; now one as the owner of the paint refinish shop has to effectively focus and concentrate ones on managing and building up ones paint refinish shops much needed new business customer clientele jobs business efforts as well as its repeat business customer clientele job business efforts to be able to effectively compete with other highly effective and efficient local independent paint refinish shops in ones local business area also as well; one is borrowing the local independent paint refinish shops expertise built up over the years along with the needed paint refinish shop equipment and professional applied paint refinish turn key solutions. For one to do this kind of work on ones own would literally require quite literally at least several hundreds of dollars of basic fundamental paint refinishing equipment and inventory of paint refinishing chemicals depending on what is actually needed to get the job done; to resolve each and every potential paint refinishing issue or problem. Now even if ones loves to do their own work and is willing to invest in the initial upfront of at least $800 or so basic fundamental paint refinishing equipment costs one would still have to spend the time to experiment/trial to find out what one would need to do in order to effectively remediate some of their basic fundamental paint refinishing issue concerns; now that could take also quite a bit of paint refinishing costly basic chemical paint refinishing stock inventory along with other needed basic fundamental paint refinishing equipment accessories also as well. Not many actual real life DIY's paint refinishing individuals have both the effective money, time and expertise to effectively tackle anything other than the basic maintenance soap car wash and wax between specific needed paint refinishing remediation jobs that may need to be done from time to time; without causing potential further additional unneeded costly damage to ones car finish down the line.
a detailer in Northridge, CA was asking for around $250. I opted for meguiar's wheel brightener instead. But avoid using on windows, mirrors, and chrome bits. It stains really badly.
Hi Brian, just watch this how to. I unfortunately patked next to a sprinkler zone and came out to water spots on my hood, driver's side. I went home and youtubed it cause I knew I had to act quickly. Chemical guys HD Remover wad the #1 choice so I picked up a bottle at the local Walmart. Well, I followed the instructions as noted but to no avail. I ll give it another try but after the application of the spot remover, I ll follow it up with a polish. I hope it works. If not, I m going to be so bummed and will have to go to a detailer.😕
Hi Brian What about Optimum MDR? All the very best for the festive season to you, family and all subscribers to your channel. Thank you for your hard work towards us amateurs
Thoughts on using 50/50 distilled water and white vinegar? Or wheel acid? Also thoughts on chemical guys water remover? I usually don’t use chemical guys. I’ll probably end up going for the 3D eraser. Has anyone liked it?
Great video! Would the gel still work for the rear window? Have a few big spots on the rear window of my car that are not budging using traditional cleaning methods.
I have some water spots that won’t come out on a black Lexus paint which I ceramic coated 2 months ago. I tried using CarPro Spotless but still see the spots. Is this McKee product safe and effective on Ceramic coating? I know I can polish it out, but that would also mean I have to reapply my ceramic coat again, which I’m trying to avoid if possible.
I was outside to chceck out my wax, I splashed some water on and let it dry, now i tave these and want to kms because I dont have a product to take it off without washing it 10 times.
u my friend are a complete professional! I have some pretty bad water spots on my brand new 2021 Veloster N, i'll be using a mineral remover and optimum no rinse wish me luck. Also is it more effective if the car is Ceramic Coated?
Thanks for the lesson. One hour for the entire final polishing step, must have not been doing the 1-sec dance step...haha. Actually my work parking does sweat at the right combination so when that happens in park elsewhere. I am surprised that it does not etch more cars.
If you're going to polish the affected area anyway, then why the effort with the gel in the first place? I would have thought the polishing would easily clean the affected area, as well as take out any marring or etching from the spotting.
Chemical Guys have a similar product that's also non abrasive that I've used on soft Toyota black single stage paint with out problems. It's a thick gel product that you apply, let linger, then rinse off and in use seems to be nearly identical to the McKee product except CG is bright orange in color.
Have been cleaning the hood on my wife’s car daily because of being in a parking garage. Seems to me that it’s worse in the winter. I stay on top of it so it doesn’t get spots and a waterless wash will get rid of whatever the hell is getting on the hood.
I drive a 6 year old black converted van. I never wash it and the paint is rough from leaves sticking, dry bird droppings and bugs. It's a road warrior. One day I plan to repaint it with bed liner paint. Anyways, I want to use shallow well water I would imagine is very hard and full of iron to wash and spray down the van to cool it off as I sleep in the van. I wonder if this will lead to the van rusting or permanent damage?
I read through all the comments and didn't see this question asked..... Which waterless wash were you using in the pump sprayer? I used waterless washes a lot more than water and buckets this year. I'm thinking about using a new IK Foamer that I just got for waterless washes instead of direct from the bottle.
Brian, do you have any updates regarding water spot removers you may like better now? Especially in conjunction with a ceramic coated car? Thought there may be something newer out now that you like better.
Dear sir, as recently German Koch Chemie line reached USA , i suggest you try some. product.of their line, very very very famus pro grade.products fornus in Europe. Koch chemie FSE is one of thr.most famous water.spot removers detail spray in europe, acid.based detail.spray. Their wax-greace remover paint.prep FW ,witch is an mineral.spirits/ipa mixture. They have great apc GS, And their abbrasive line also famus in Europe, it would.be nice to test their lone some time. My kind regards Much love from Athens Greece
I've got their H8 02 and think it's great, I'm in the UK. When I've used up the rest of the 3m polish I have I'm probably going to go all Koch for compounds etc. Brian has done a video on H8 iirc and seemed impressed. I know Jon from Forensic Detailing likes it too.
how do you like mckees products do not see any reviews for there products from the top youtube detailers. im been doin boats but starting to get into RV just looking for a good soap and wax to make my life and job easier do you have any good pointers for rv soaps that really works. i will be washing in direct sunlight with deionized water from start to finish.
So I shined a high power light on my Nautical blue 4runner and saw water spots I could not see with the naked eye. Do I need this or will a normal wash with Carpro Reset work?
@@apexdetail85 None actually if you realize that water spots are caused by drying water beads and the heat baking them in. There's no product in the world that will resist. I have my car ceramic coated and that information is in the disclosure.
