Thank you for posting this I just purchased a Mandoline similar to the one you have from Amazon. I'm going first thing in the morning for vegetable to make chips you made it look so easy and I will follow your instructions for cooking the chips. MANY BLESSINGS TO YOU AND YOURS.
Hi Nita, thanks for taking the time to lead a comment. Safety 1st I always say. I hope the chips work out. Please let me know how it goes. Regards Kameel
Nice one mate, I bought this Japanese mandoline from Amazon along with a Victorinox cut resistant glove. Lovely veggie chips right at home! Loved your video.
I have used chef's cut resistant gloves after a serious cut. I have never been cut on a mandolin since. I wear and rinse the gloves fingertips under running water when done. They get stained by carrots and the like, but rinsing keeps them clean.
Great video. I've got one question. Did I wash my mandolin wrong? I put it in the clothes washer with my rags and I hear "ba-bang, tha-thump! "Ba-Bang! Tha-clickety-clackety thump-ety thump." Then, 20 minutes later it's in 13 1/2 pieces. I did it wrong didn't I? JK, but seriously, great video.
Just use cut resistant gloves. I know it doesn't look sexy, but it's smarter. Don't be a macho chef. I remember one of our chefs stabbing his hand 3 times with an oyster knife, before he started using the chain glove.
