How to launch and recover your boat from a lake where pontoons exist. Unlike beach launching, this video shows what to do where there are pontoons which are floating structures. These exist in many inland lakes and places where there is no tide.

In my club, an instructor believes that you must have the centre board UP FULLY when standing in it rigging it, and seems to think that having it down causes the boat to move around all over the place.. Im sure hes wrong,.. Your video suggests he is.. Are there different ideas out there legitimately or is he incorrect?!?

I always find it easier with the centreboard down when rigging. Without this I find the boat mire unstable and moves around a lot more.I am not saying your instructor is wring, but I do it differently to them.

I am a heavier person and even stepping as far as I can near the centre destabilizes my solo.

I have to get on the centre line as soon as possible with a quick movement on top of the centreboard to get away from the pontoon if there is a wind shadow. I sail a Solo too and the balance needs to be even to avoid tipping when no power in the sail from the wind
