Are you going stir crazy at the house? Is your wife? How's your stress levels through all this? The family's? Well let's take it to the bunker and talk about some ways you can mentally survive your recent big changes in life with the Pandemic. Life will be forever changed by all this and these changes were pressed upon us suddenly without any time for adaptation. And yet there are others who have gone through this before. We can learn from them.
I will delve into some key TNP Life Principles in order to do it. Expect some discussion on the concept of life balance, work, goal setting and reaching, never arriving, parenting, the healthiness of being alone sometimes, and much more. Some surprising and concrete activity ideas for your and your family's sanity are proffered. Time will pass quickly and you'll be energized through this Stage 1 of the "apocalypse."

Nutnfancy, in large part because of your videos and advice over the years I was reasonably prepared for something like our current circumstances. I have loved ones who didn't listen but I am fortunately able to help them to some degree. They now are asking about the ability to defend themselves. I'm working through the frustration of being ignored all this time to help them to whatever degree I can. Thank you for the service you provide us through the project. "The owl is on the shed."

I'm right there with you except I am not dealing with the frustration. I just sat back with a smile and laugh when they all started saying I was right and that they are now listening to me. They laughed alot at me before, I don't hear laughing anymore. Keep on keeping on!

And if the renters dont pay the landlords I work for, all projects are going to be pulled! I am a small engine mechanic at a very rural hardware. We are a essential business. All the local people that are not working are board so they are shopping us hard. No one really gives a crap about covid-19 because they haven’t seen it at their door step yet. Problem is, a large percentage of these same customers that don’t care are elderly at risk people. Covid-19 makes it here and their is going to be massive fatality rate.

Four stars. Been watching since 09, in rural Ga, so I’m blessed. Man, I have always had a lot of respect for you. These last few videos have really been awesome. I really appreciate you being open with your faith. I think if more people who have a public platform we’re not afraid to talk about what’s important, more people could be reached. Great content, I was a patron member, be dollars really started counting. I am over forty, my wife and I were told we couldn’t have children. We never gave up on hope, now we have two boys under five. I farm for a living, and my wife is able to stay at home. Our lives have not really changed a whole lot. I really appreciate what you do for all of us.

4.5 - 5 Both my wife and I are considered essential in a critical infrastructure position. So our pay hasn't changed, we had years of food storage, 3 sources of water on property, chickens, goats, rabbits, and fish in our livestock. Also a garden that produces all the veggies we need. It is amazing what living a prepping lifestyle is compared to collecting gear.

I'm actually at a 5, thanks to watching these videos all these years. It's been a decade at least. After prepping for years, we have plenty of high morale food, clean water, ammo, and even candy and deserts. Two full freezers. Electric has been fine but I just serviced the generator so there's no worries there. All the cars and fuel cans are topped off. I work from home already so no disruption there. Have had a lot of time to work on archery skills though and built an atlatl last weekend that I'm getting better at. I maybe want for a salad and realize I should be growing my own and maybe build some raised beds in the front yard. Sounds like another project! My best advice is just stay busy. You know what they say about idle hands.

Great video, and thank you! I would have to rate myself a 4.5. Luckily I am working from home to begin with on a contracted photography project. Even though I am here alone I still like to get out and of course all the ranges are shut down. I just hop on the old KLR and head up the canyons. Still too much snow to do too much off road, but the time will come when I can ride around and find new fishing spots and camp off the bike. Life is always what you make it for yourself. A sense of accomplishment and pride in our work has great value (along with some play time now and then). The garden is going to be spectacular this year. Every vehicle has fresh fluids, and the bathroom has probably been cleaned to many times for a bachelor this past month. Other things to do and this is a good time for are: Clean out the old gear that doesn't get used and has been sitting for years. Donate it to a friend that might need it or something like Boy Scouts that can put it to use. Old pots and pans that are not utilized went to goodwill. Even books no longer used went to the little local library. Our small town doesn't even have a gas station, but everyone here uses the library and they have no funds to purchase books.

OK, playing catch with yourself (actual story) when I was 11 I moved to a new city during the summer. School hadn't started and I didn't know anyone to hang out with. My mom had a back injury and couldn't play catch, and my dad worked long hours. So... I taught myself to throw and catch a football by (get this) throwing it (at an angle) to my steep roof. It then came down at a different angle, and I would run and try to catch it before it hit the ground. I also had a Daisy Powerline BB gun and some plastic army men. Good times. Not a recommendation exactly, but if you've got no one else, you CAN play catch with yourself. (Provided you have a steep enough roof!) Haha

5 stars for me - I'm an introverted workaholic with ADD, which means there is no place I would rather be than staying home and working on a million projects in my shop or in the yard. I can't relate to people who get bored. All the things we can't do now are the things I can't stand, like crowds, traffic, stores, parties, etc. I get to spend time with my dogs and work on projects I haven't had time for before. Quarantine is my slice of heaven. I lost my side jobs, but I'll be fine. I feel bad for the people who are hurting now, but I'm thankful that I have it pretty good right now.

Now we are contingency planing for an event where staff and the population are infected. Our current circumstance is that we are ordered to shelter in place so... essentially we go to prison and we go home. we have taken in two additional people due to lay offs and college closers. Food and TP are good at this point, however we didn't know that our home population would double. I will also tell you how thankful we are that we haven't been layed off. Good ole Dr Beeman of the Airgun importing biz in the late 70s through the early 90s did an article on "mini-sniping game" using high precision air rifles at challenging ranges. Like 35 to 60 yards shooting at small army men like you did or even as small as 9mm cases. They had rules and such but yes, great fun and helps with firearm skills of course also. I think you know I have been a competitive and recreational airgunner with high quality imported air rifles since the mid 80s and some friends and I even worked out the scale ballistics for simulating long range firearm calibers scaled down to airgun energy levels and ranges. For example before airguns we had worked out that a .22lr at 300 yards is like shooting 7.62x51mm at 1200 or 1000 yards I forgot which. So we had done the same for airguns but we were shooting from 45 to about 70 yards or so depending on the platform and power. So great for both trigger discipline but also for helping understanding ballistics better. Airguns are highly recommended for fun, safety training and skill improvement.

Been doing a lot of busywork around the house. It feels good. I've been walking my dog a lot. That helps. Turkey season is coming up soon, so my son and I have that to look forward to. Above all, there's my Faith, although I don't talk about it much, because it just weirds people out for some reason.

Hey Nutn, we’re here in Ga , in a suburb of Atl and at this moment we’re at a 3 as we are not social butterflies any way and so it not bad . We hope that it will be only a few more weeks and we peak and start to level out... if not then will ... we’ll need to really tight up and we have a daughter that special needs and requires meds .... and a teenage daughter ... I’m more sad for her and that she is missing school and friends . As sir Shackleton says “ we endure to conquer “

My fam is one of those paranoid people. They even go as far as saying, "if you go out, stay out!" So good luck me getting them out of the house.

Being calm is imperative to getting through this. By you, being calm, you are helping others see the light. Like being lost on a raft at sea with no moon or starLIGHT for guidance, when you see the light on the hill which is a municipality, township, or village of peace, prosperity, and harmony, you then have hope for you know which direction to go-which is toward the light!

4 and a half stars. Working my ass off, but I feel like we're heading to a good place. It's going to suck for a while, but I think good is going to come out of this. I was prepped and GTG thanks to videos like yours, NF.

Former infantryman, work in natural resources law enforcement job. Natural introvert. This has no effect on me. Frankly I'm enjoying it.

3/5 stars for me right now....rushing to get a setup together while everything is flying off the shelves. Haven't had a job in a month and half due to lay offs. Got a job now, money's coming in. Got a decent amount of food, water, gas, batteries, ammo etc. but want more. So much that needs to be bought, coordinating with friends in NYS while I'm in UT going to regroup very soon. Everything's gone to shit and I should have been prepared by now, but I spent the summer and all my money on a cross country cycling trip. Very self guilty right now. Will press on and push through! Form a good little community with my friends. Hope everyone else is doing alright with your friends and communities, keep the future in mind (summer and winter coming, the like).

I'm a 4-4.5.. My only issue is I'm running low on TP.. Down to 30 rolls and eating a lot of beans, rice, so its going quick.. I'm by myself with two dogs so no kids or spouse. Lots of projects are finally getting worked on. The old trailer that had rotten wood and been sitting next to the house for at least 3 years has now been stripped, all the old wiring and broken lights have been removed. Today I will be sanding and priming the now bare frame. Got a complete set of lights to install. Have a quart of paint to paint it first. At night I'm sorting buckets of brass, processing and tumbling over night, got a bunch of 9mm and 40S&W to size, deprime, and reprime.. Got a batch of reloading going in the next week or so.. A new tumbler is coming so I can do several batches of cleaning at one time.. Need to build a casting bench and get my casting back up and running.
