Song fact: This song was written about how The Fray's singer tried talking one of the youths he was counseling out of using heroin (or cocaine, I don't remember), and failing.

the original version is when you feel sad and just want sit down and cry. this version is when you feel angry and just want to shout and scream both version let you feel what needs to be felt to heal

This came out only a few days after a close friend of mine died of suicide. I've lost friends before. This wasn't the first. I have lost a friend to a meth addiction. I have lost a friend to cancer. I have lost a friend to the hands of a murderer. I have lost a friend to the hands of a drunk driver. I have lost a friend to being in the Army and going to Iraq. None of those deaths prepared me for losing a friend to suicide. I am still shaken to the core over her. The fact her life got to a point where she felt there was no way to rectify the wrongs that were done to her, where she felt ending her own life was the only way to escape the pain. She was a good person. Beyond good. She was one of my best friends. She was there for me when I was struggling. I met her while I was homeless and she helped me get food and took me driving to get out of the heat. She didn't deserve to be treated the way she was. People hurt her badly. But she was, and she was traumatized because of it, and now she's gone.

I like these live recordings way better than the green screen lip-sync. These have genuine energy instead of dead eyes staring into my soul.
