Cubase lacks 2 things that are essential for managing files and I wish they'd add it ASAP. 1) These backup files it creates make the project folder a mess - please have Cubase make a Backup Folder and house all those files there so we only have to look at project files. Right ow the project folder looks like a mess with multiple backups and project files in it. 2) A folder that automatically places a copy of videos in it. Logic does this and its a life saver for making sure your project's videos are local to the project! Thanks!

Having the backup projects clogging up the main project folder seems the opposite of organised and clean that you describe. Any solution to avoid that? Thanks

It would be great if Cubase managed backups and versions in dedicated folders. It is very messy as it is now.

It is a horrible mess, especially if you don't become aware of how messy it can get until you've already created quite a few projects over the course of many months. Yes, that's me I'm describing. :) I have those tons of "untitled..." folders, with numerous audio files inside, and even after I've created dedicated folders for those projects, they still seem to be connected to them in some way, as I get "file missing" errors when I remove any of the "untitled..." ones. I don't understand why Steiny didn't give us a simple "Name your project" prompt when we create a new one, then put everything to do with it in there. As it is, I have now got into the habit of using a template project called "Start Here" that I created, in order to start things off. Then I do some work, and re-save into a named project folder. At least then all the start-up mess is contained in that one "Start Here" folder.

Its only a mess if you dont pay attention to where you are saving the backups. Just create a new folder.

It's hard to imagine how the designers could have ended up with a worse workflow for the two options of starting a new project. Why don't they ask you to choose a name for the project when you do it, for a start?

This is great! Thank you! Since I'm pretty clueless when it comes to file management, can you do a video that would work for Windows 10? I'm sure the basic idea is the same as for a Mac but any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again!

Thanks. I like that Cubase automatically creates the "Mixdown" folder. It would be great have a preference to name it something else though. Would be pretty easy to implement.

How do you not save it to one drive? I’ve heard that could be causing issues

I like how Steinberg has a clunky workaround for a massive problem they created. What a clusterfuck.

How do I change the location of my Audio folder. I made the mistake of setting my project folder the audio folder of another project so now I have Audio inside Audio. I just want to deselect where my project files are saved. Is backup the easiest way to do this

Question: At timecode 3:35 I see what looks like a pitch corrector window. What plugin is that in Cubase? Is it native to Cubase?

I want to ask, I am now moving from a windows system to a mac, is it possible if I want to open a project that I have created in windows? or do I have to change the project file format first? thanks

So, if I have one dedicated folder for each project and all files relevant vor a project are stored in the project folder, can I copy the whole folder to an other drive and still open the copy of the project even if the original folder is gone?

Yesterday Cubase Pro 11 crashed on me completely while saving a project (Windows blue screen!) and after reboot and launching it back I had all my preferences, keyboard shortcuts, colour palettes, VST paths, etc. gone as if I only just installed it. Projects & templates luckily seem to be intact. Where do I find some kind of crash log that I could send to support?

When browsing for samples, adding new columns to media bay in the right zone won’t save and will reset to default after your restart cubase. This is a issue since cubase 7.5!!!

Strasznie to skomplikowane - jednak Studio One wpadło na lepszy pomysł z folderami. Tam tworzy się wszystko automatycznie. A ja testuje Cubase 12/13 i wszystko trzeba układać samemu.

There is one thing that is missing in the HUB, and that is the "clear recent". Not being able to mark/tick several project in the history is a nightmare.
@madmac66
@madmac66 2 года назад
You can right click and select remove from recent on a per project basis.
@RudalPL
@RudalPL 2 года назад
@@madmac66 That's my point. You have to do it one by one. We need an option where we can remove several and/or all at once.
@madmac66
@madmac66 2 года назад
@@RudalPL Yeah agreed it's a bit of work to keep that list tidy. Most programs have a clear recent of some sort. There's quite a few things missing from cubase that after 40:years they might have figured out

Sry if my comments appear several times. They disappear always for whatever reason... The channel says there are 16 comments but I can just see 7 of them :( so I also can't delete them...

Did you know you can just type toe folder name from within Cubase's start window? None of those two steps shown are useful. You can sum it up just using the deault location and type the name in the corresponding filed... it just seems faster and smoother than what is presented in this official cubase channel.

This BOOOOMY bass of your voice is SOOOOO distracting! I'm only 30 sec into the video and it's turning me off already. You sound like a DJ! I guess I must listen to it on some other pair of speakers. Don't get me wrong, I'm thankful for the information I'm getting here. Just saying.
